After 3 crazy days, 54 miles later… I made it!!!! That was such an adventure & I will forever be in awe of this island. Day 1 made it to the island @ 10am. We started the paddle and 8 miles in, our boat engine started to overheat and our Impeller shredded. We had to get towed back to mainland on day 1. We were so bummed… had no idea how we were going to get back to the island to get the paddle done. My parents were then going to head up from catalina to get us back to the island for day 2 and then their boat broke… so
@__sandab__ stepped in and let us take his Parker 🙏🏼. We made it back out to the island for day 2 @ 10am and I was 12 miles behind but we still had to finished by Wednesday. Day 2 was the longest day at 24miles, wind and swell from gull to West Point humbled me… but we rounded the west end of the island.
@_fishsticks caught squid all night. Day 3 was a 5am wake up & we got 5 halibut before I got into the water! Then we did the whole front side of the island from West Point back to Pedro point which was 22miles. So many beautiful moments, laughs, pain, interesting meals, and memories that I will never forget. So much gratitude to Joe Bark
