Meet Ryder Devoe, who first walked into RIFFE HQ as a 16-year-old kid during one of our warehouse sales. Jay saw a spark in him that reminded him of his own early days, driven by curiosity, raw talent, and a deep respect for the ocean. From that day forward, weâve enjoyed following Ryderâs spearfishing journey and accomplishments.
Growing up on the coast of Southern California, Ryder learned quickly that time in the water wasnât just recreation, it was a lifelong calling. From landing his first halibut, learning the basics of freediving, to landing his first big catches, every dive is another lesson in patience, skill, and connection to the sea.
These days, Ryder can be found chasing epic conditions, diving, surfing, and low-flying adventures.

@ryderdevoe sharpened his primitive spearfishing skills while in the Bahamas, field-testing the Mamba Pole Spear last season. New to pole spearing, Ryder closed the gap on wary fish, landing some memorable ones with the rollerâs power.
âI had a great time hanging with Nick and Sierra in the Bahamas, using the Riffe Mamba Pole Spear. Nickâs experience over there played a big role, as we were able to go from spot to spot loaded with great fish. We all speared some really good eating fish. I was stoked on the performance of the Roller as I was able to pull off some shots I wouldnât feel comfortable taking with a normal spear.â
