🎉🎠 HELL YEA — “Sunsetting” just passed 10k !! 🙏🏻
For the “Sunsetting” music video, we teamed up with @imashoots (Director/DP) & @jhassage (Editor) again after working on “VIOLET” together. 💫 From the start, I always envisioned cinematic glimmers, projections & a 35mm aesthetic. It begins with me in childlike 90s makeup and appearance, nodding to childlike wonder & as the video progresses, the makeup builds. As the video reaches its peak during the bridge of the song, you see Blake and I performing half submerged in water — this is a visual metaphor for creative rebirth. My clothing also goes from a solid white tee, to sheer to lace — symbolizing my ‘shedding of layers’ in surrender to letting myself be seen. ((It’s also the same top from the ‘Nightswimming’ video - for the real ones following us since Day One, this is VERY intentional 💋)) This video was filmed last year just weeks before the hardest chapter of my life (the sudden loss of both my parents) & will forever be a time capsule to a time when I was fighting so hard for mental & creative balance & liberation. As with all our videos, lots of more fun easter eggs in this if you look closely… 👀
