Congratulations to the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop on being honored at the 2026 @TheaterWorksUSA Spring Benefit as the foremost training ground for new musical theatre writers! Our Senior Director of Musical Theatre, #PatCook, accepted the award. We are proud to celebrate this recognition of the workshop’s contributions to musical theater. 🎶💙 #BMIFamily
Last night, we named composer @TheodoreShapiro a BMI Icon at our #BMIFilmTVAwards. Shapiro received this prestigious award for his outstanding body of work in some of the most culturally defining films and TV series over the last 25 years. During the ceremony, we also celebrated the composers behind the previous year’s top-grossing films, top-rated primetime network television series, and highest-ranking cable and streaming programs, including Sinners (scored by @LudwigG öransson), Tyler Perry’s Straw (scored by @DaraTaylormusic ), Win or Lose (scored by @RaminDjawadi_official ), and many more.📽️🎶
The @librarycongress has released its annual list of 25 recordings selected for prestigious inclusion into the National Recording Registry. Hand-picked for their cultural, historical, and/or aesthetic impact on America’s sound heritage, these works will be preserved in perpetuity in the Registry, which now contains 700 titles in all.
We are exceptionally pleased that 13 of this year’s selections are by BMI songwriters and international songwriters whose music is licensed in the U.S. by BMI. #BMIFamily
