As part of NextGen Industry, we welcomed Janmejay Singh for a powerful VR session exploring how storytelling through new media can drive global transformation.
The session blended personal practice and purpose from Janmejay’s background in immersive and interactive storytelling (VR, AR, XR) to a live demonstration of Whale Fall, an award-winning VR experience using climate storytelling to educate and provoke reflection.
With hands-on VR, followed by a thoughtful discussion and wrap-up, young people were invited to consider how technology, creativity, and narrative can be tools for impact, education, and change.

🌏 In early March, the Sustainable Markets Initiative hosted the Terra Carta Roundtables and Exhibition at Hampton Court Palace. The President & Vice-Chancellor was in attendance alongside Nick de Leon, who led a 90 minute plenary session to present some of the remarkable Terra Carta Design Lab projects from 2022 and 2024.
This was accompanied by an exhibition of Terra Carta Design Lab projects, including 2024 winners BlueNose and Pyri, as well as 2022 finalists Notpla and Shellworks. The exhibiting companies had the opportunity to meet delegates from the SMI’s global network, as well as His Majesty The King who visited the exhibition and spoke with the teams about their innovations.
