Breaking social media sabbatical to share a milestone at @proton_radio that’s been over a year in the making. Today the company stands in support of Palestine and against the genocide, announcing partnership with @fakelines.studio — a new non profit music label born in collaboration with the co-founders of @alt_orient . They’re of Palestinian descent, I’m of Jewish descent, and together we collaborated on a compilation helping raise funds for “Revive Gaza Farmlands” from @apnorg , a project aspiring to food sovereignty in Palestine and the wider Levant. As Israel restricts aid into Gaza, restoring local capacity to grow food is one of the only viable lifelines. Silence from other music companies on the genocide in Palestine has been scary, depressing, and sobering, but this helped inspire an evolution of Proton’s core company values. I’m proud and grateful for the crew I work with for being brave to go ahead. I hope what we’ve done helps give other music companies the courage to speak up. Being the first distributor to do so (to our knowledge) was scary for some of our crew. Catalyzed by the partnership, Proton has upgraded our Release Links platform to support direct donations that unlock access to HD streaming & downloads — no 3rd party platform required, with 100% of proceeds going to charity. In the future, we hope to expand direct donation to all our labels and artists, empowering our creative community to raise funds and awareness for causes they’re passionate about. “Sono Levant” is a 36 track compilation uniting artists from the fractured and conquered Levant region and its diaspora, alongside guest musicians from Tunisia, Algeria, Iraq, Turkey, France, Venezuela, Italy and India. “No country in this world establishes its ability to exist through rights. Countries establish their abilities to exist through force, as America did. Israel does exist. It’s a fact. The question of its right (to exist) is not a question I would be faced with with any other country. There’s nothing that offends me about a Jewish state. I am offended by the idea of states built on ethnocracy, no matter where they are. I would not want a state where any group of people relinquishes their citizenship rights based on ethnicity. I have a very, very, very moral compass about this. Either apartheid is right or it’s wrong. It’s really, really simple. I am against a state that discriminates against people on the basis of ethnicity. There is nothing the Palestinians could do that would make that okay for me.”

A spiral of light stretching to infinity creating/destroying, hurting/enjoying, distorting/rarefying, suffering/healing, teaching/learning... evolving. From a limited/constrained/dualistic perspective, seen as above so below as a circle: a particularly flickering point manifested/measured in a 3 dimensional physical realm by consciousness. From an unlimited/infinite perspective, unseen prismatically serpentine/spiraling/singing continuously as an undulating unconscious unmanifest wavebeing, seeking/knowing itself, wondering/yearning/learning/becoming how to be/love. ...or just a tripper trap/toy of a slinky to play with/itself eternally/until/unless...? “Wavebeing” imagined with MidJourney V6, acoustically accompanied by the new “Hidden Dimension” continuous mix from @hraachmusic (link in comments!). Inspired by various parts of a healing journey: post ecstatic dance lunch conversation in Portland with loved ones, a recent quantum physics & synchronicity lecture at the SF Jung Institute, the Ra Material/Law of One, The Gene Keys, 8 weekends of Kundalini yoga training waking up really early, but importantly/originally: the Aboriginal creator archetype known to them by many names but to me as Rainbow Serpent.

Tribute/exploration of the inner anima/animus that erupted/ignited so much transformation/growth last year. Growth can be easeful/gentle, but sometimes things need to rupture/erupt in order to grow/be recontextualized. Hoping/intending/creating a gentler/tenderer 2024... but open to what's ready in the unconscious to emerge. w/MidJourney v6

This morning I woke up with more energy than usual, thanks to momentum from all the actions yesterday aligned with intentions and the mind/body/spirit. So I went on an uphill run which I haven’t done in a long time. To my surprise I made it all the way to the top of Bernal Hill without stopping. Something I’ve never done before. Whenever I felt cramps begin I was able to do what everyone says you’re supposed to do - breath into that zone. In the past it never worked for me. Today I could do it, easefully. I haven’t been doing intense cardio to build to this either. It just felt like I had access to the energy of the body better than before, didn’t feel sensations as pain like I used to, and there was more energy because it wasn’t locked up holding tense muscles — not just from cramps, but from all the tense/dense muscles of a lifetime Ive been slowly learning to wake up so they can let go holding on to “protect” me. This may not be the most glorious or special photo of Ra climbing into the sky, but it was very meaningful one to me. Meaningful because this isn’t some magical breakthrough that just happened, but because it’s an embodied lived experience / empirical evidence of the months of work I’ve put into a book that’s transformed life for me — Letting Go by David Hawkins.

Burning Heart of Gold (w/MidJourney) Lots to be thankful for this week, but especially this year all the healers + musicians who’ve accompanied/inspired/shared their gifts with me on this journey.

Root Down + Sunset at Esalen, Fall 2023. Returning to San Francisco after 3 weeks away at Root Down, Crete, Amsterdam, and Big Sur. As the sun sets and an eclipsed full moon rises, the earth shakes, the cold rolls in, standing on a threshold between chosen portals and unexpected pathways that shepherded me through tears of grief, peak experiences of blissful joy, insights and serendipities, affirmations and cascading transformation, meaningful new connections, celebration of chosen music family, a deluge of dreams, inklings of intuition, and a sprouting kundalini practice amplifying/empowering it all. With plenty of sleep and deep, cathartic breaths. Time to rest and integrate, marinate and nurture. But also, launch the project at Proton we’ve been building for the past few months. And also, sign the paperwork of healthy separation. In moments of silence, the swirling reams of experience stand still in poignant shimmering aliveness, glittering, challenging me not to fear being swallowed whole but to grow, bask and trust with reverence and awe at every moment unfurling. Not unlike this magical sunset flaming down on the peaceful Pacific.
