We realized that we should always wear masks around each other bc at the volume we talk and laugh, we’ve definitely been spraying each other with our micro-droplets for years. @jasperpatch came out from above to get a much needed dose of Stacey too! #IRunWithMaud #JusticeForAhmaud Due to my asthma and the weather conditions in NYC today, I walked 2.27 miles with my husband @jasperpatch in honor of Ahmaud Arbery whose family requested we all run (or walk) 2.23 miles in observance of 2/23/20 the day his life was viciously taken away and Ahmaud’s love of jogging. We walked with intention honoring his life & discussing what we all can do better. We offer our condolences to his family and friends. Today would be Ahmaud’s 26th birthday and we are proud to celebrate his life. Thank you to his family for offering us a way to be a part of the collective positive impact Ahmaud is making on the world. Notice Lady Liberty behind me. Let’s continue to push for a day in which justice is applied to us all equally regardless of our race. ❤️

There was a summer day in NYC in 2010 when I was so star struck by this band called Death @deathworldwide that I HAD to take a pic with them. They happily obliged. Think of how excited I was to see their documentary years later and see this very moment w @jasperpatch and I in it. Now go watch this documentary: A Band Called Death. “Punk before punk existed, three teenage brothers in the early '70s formed a band in their spare bedroom, began playing a few local gigs and even pressed a single in the hopes of getting signed. But this was the era of Motown and emerging disco. Record companies found Death's music and band name too intimidating, and the group were never given a fair shot, disbanding before they even completed one album. Equal parts electrifying rockumentary and epic family love story, A Band Called Death chronicles the incredible fairy-tale journey of what happened almost three decades later, when a dusty 1974 demo tape made its way out of the attic and found an audience several generations younger. Playing music impossibly ahead of its time, Death is now being credited as the first black punk band (hell...the first punk band!), and are finally receiving their long overdue recognition as true rock pioneers.”
I have asthma and I rarely go outside. But if you do, know that today @billdeblasio says you must wear a mouth covering in grocery stores in NYC AND @nygovcuomo issued an executive order saying you must have a mouth covering on if you are unable to maintain social distancing at any time when you are out. #covid19nyc #covid19ny Stay inside. The so called “plateau” here has been a horrifying rate of death for almost an entire week straight 700+ deaths daily. We added here in NYC, 3700 previously uncounted deaths which were due to Covid19 symptoms and were not tested. 😢 Special note hair headbands work as great mouth coverings. Proud of @jasperpatch and my art project! We live across from the staff entrance of a NYC hospital. We put this up last night in honor of our healthcare workers. ❤️ It’s a small gesture. It’s the least we could do considering first responders are all risking their lives and their families’ lives on behalf of us all.
