We are grateful for being featured in this week's issue of @zeitmagazin with an excerpt from our work »The Perfect Crime: Concerning the Murder of Reality«. The overrepresentation of fictional murder in various German TV-series marks the starting point of our examination of the effects of crime fiction on our perception and behavior.
Big thanks to @milena_carstens for making this possible!
Sneak peek into my graduation publication “A circle of 12 gold stars on a blue background”. The book closely obeys the rules and guidelines for publications as outlined in the visual identity manual of the European Commission.
I am looking forward to showing the work in its entirety for the first time as part of this year’s graduation exhibition at @schoolofartsgent from June 27th till June 30th. Drop by if you have the chance!

Two images from my current photographic MA project “A circle of 12 gold stars on a blue background” got featured in the @nytimes , accompanying an opinion piece by Belgian essayist Anton Jäger. In his text, titled „My Country Shows What Europe Has Become“, he takes a closer look at the current state of Belgian politics as a seismograph for political developments all across the European Union.

For @lecho.be , I had the great pleasure of spending a few minutes with Belarusian opposition leader and civil rights activist Svetlana Tikhanovskaïa at a hotel in Brussels’ European district. The interview was conducted by @vincentgeoris and published on 12 March.
Recent installation shots for the research project Intermediate Zones, led by @giliamantonie , @deroo.bert and @jerrygalle , exhibited at KASK School of Arts in Ghent, Belgium.
[Intermediate Zones C2-E7] is an attempt to engage with the Bijloke as a more-than-human community that unfolds over time.
I’m very happy about this feature in issue 0 of a new magazine, produced by the team of @12f.eu around Sebastian Stricker. The spreads offer a small insight into my work on the political in the city of Brussels. The images originate both from my M.A. graduation project, as well as from editorial assignments for @sz and @nytimes .
It was a pleasure to read many of the interviews with protagonists, such as Robert Menasse, Nicu Popescu, and André Wilkens.
Many thanks to @sarischildt_ for the nice edit.
Mit seiner Arbeit “A Circle of 12 Gold Stars on a Blue Background” bietet der Fotograf Jan A. Staiger (@janstaiger ) Einblicke in das technokratische Herz der Europäischen Union. Sie offenbaren die Widersprüche einer Bürokratie, die sowohl lähmt und brutal abweist als auch unsere Freiheit schützt.

I am very happy to have contributed to a @nytimes opinion piece written by German journalist @sauerbreyanna , on the various challenges German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is currently facing. The photo was taken at the Chancellor’s press conference during the informal EU leaders’ summit in Alden Biesen, Belgium, a few weeks ago. Many thanks to @kerrcirilo for making this possible.
I‘m very happy about this feature of my work „A Circle of 12 Gold Stars on a Blue Background“ by the great team over at @emergemagazin .
The photographic essay addresses the transition of political ideologies from vague intellectual fragments - expressed in speeches and documents - into a solid state of matter, translating them into the physical, the spatial, and, most importantly, the visual. Many thanks to @lennarthoelscher for all the support, and to Dominique Pardey for contributing a subjective essay in conversation with my images.
