FLUX I, II and III 2024 with Jussi Ängeslevä @jangesle Glass, mirror, polarizing filters, wave plates, rocks and wood. These are our first collaborative works in a gallery / domestic setting. They really need to be experienced in person as the viewer completes the work in movement. My exhibition CHROMA CULTURE untill 10.11. At Himmelblau Gallery is open today until 16:00 @himmelblauart
Visiting Hokkaido art museum and when taking a photo of this AINU embroidery, my phone is seeing it as qr code... @siaf_info #sapporointernationalartfestival (... rightfully, promptly, I was told, no photos permitted)
PINNANNOUSU @siaf_info
Last weekend, we setup my art experiment PINNANNOUSU at the snow storage chamber for the cooling system at Moerenuma Park’s Glass Pyramid. The space gets normally filled with winter’s snow in the spring, that keeps the museum cool in the summer. It’s a perfect metaphorical location for the art, where an industrial robot is used to shape large ice blocks to caustic lenses that project images on the walls. The robot carries a flashlight, rendering the encoded image visible. But the ice is melting, and the techno-spectacle turns into a slow motion morph. In the end, unavoidably, a pool of water is all that remains.
The sisyphean effort is performed again this weekend. Come to see the work, if you’re in Sapporo!
Together with @aatb_ch and with support from @arsaffix@gcm_epfl@ecal_ch and @rayform at #sapporointernationalartfestival @siaf_info
