We spent an incredible two weeks @cowhousestudios for their parenting residency. It was so brilliant for my body and my mind. My children were cared for and given an incredible experience over the two weeks. The attention and care we were all given will reverberate for a long time. Thank you, @rosieogorman , Frank Abruzzese, Edel and Sinead.
Here are just some of the things that happened: beautiful homemade meals prepared twice a day for all the families. Space, time, and understanding to create, read, and think. Amazing walks and views, fresh air. A sanua and very cold pond for swimming. Space for connection and conversation with a wonderful group of artists. Bread making. A lovely little pet of a cat, a horse, a mad goose, a peacock, I'm definitely forgetting things. Oh man! It was the best.
A recently framed painting from 2023 at the Ballinglen Arts Foundation. 3 years ago...
I am busy making new work and quite shit at sharing it. This year I'm working on a large public art commission, some painting commissions and an upcoming group exhibition, so once I have photographed all these exciting opportunities I will share them.
All of this is possible with the generous support of @artscouncilireland and South Dublin County Council. I don't think I could have returned to work after my second child if it weren't for this financial support, so I really am grateful.
This is an appreciation post for the brilliant @davidlunney . This year he made a studio in our back garden. It was a real labour of love and certainly a learning curve. All of this, while working full-time and being a dad, was very impressive. It wasn't a complete solo venture, of course, a huge thank you to both of our dads @james.lunney and my dad, Gero, my hero.
We're so lucky to have you, David. Looking forward to all the great stuff you're gonna make in it now that you have some time back.
We're calling the studio the Camac studio on account of its proximity to the river. If anyone wants to come for a visit, give us a shout!
I finished some paintings recently and they are now available on my website. Link in my bio. They are egg tempera on paper.
I began these paintings during my residency at the Ballinglen Arts Foundation in Co. Mayo in the summer of 2023 and finished them in my studio in Dublin. The colour palette is derived directly from the landscape in and around Ballycastle and the Céide Fields, which is a very beautiful place.

Artist’s Spotlight: Jane Fogarty @jane.fogarty
Jane Fogarty is a visual artist from Dublin. Her work includes playful three-dimensional objects and painted works on paper. Commonplace materials such as paper or silicone are coerced into apparently teetering accumulations. These sculptures yield somewhat to the artist’s hand but ultimately, follow the logic of the material and sense of balance.
It is important that the work shows evidence of the artist’s hand, that there is an engagement with the material that a machine couldn’t make. The work is slow and contemplative in its creation due to the nature of the processes involved.
Fogarty exhibited in our group show, “Volume 1“ which ran from June 7th – June 23rd. Her original artwork is available to view and purchase in store. Visit us to see these pieces and more. We are open today 11 - 5, Wed - Sat 10.00 - 5.30 & Sun 12 - 5.

I'm on the telly! Thanks to RTE This is Art Club for coming to visit and to the wonderful Ciara for the hands-on help and great questions. @tia.ie
It was lots of fun. Look at the size of me 😂 I was 8 or 9 months pregnant here and definitely felt it. But what a joy to work on this. Shot in @firestationartistsstudios last September with a surprise cameo from Patrick at the end. 😍
Look out for @clarelbreen in this episode too, a natural.
Available to stream now on the RTE player.
I have a few coloured pencil drawings, Dodo (2) #1-5, now available on my website. These works came from needing a quicker, more immediate way of creating while juggling parenting. Though progress is slower, I’m still working in Egg Tempera and will have new pieces soon! Link in bio
