When you forget there’s film inside and accidentally open the camera you took backpacking with you this past summer, but then also realize this is how it felt to be in the mountains for a month..
Yesterday we premiered our film, Degrees of Freedom (@degreesoffreedomfilm ) at the @danceswithfilms festival in Union Square, a film I had the honor of co-directing alongside Aisha Elliott, Cheryl Wilkins, and the late Kathy Boudin, produced by Michelle Daniel Jones (@michelle__thetruth ) and Logan Mcbride.
Stay tuned for more screenings to come in the new year and hear this amazing group of women narrate their powerful journey of organizing behind and through the bars of New York’s only maximum-security prison for women to create a transformative community of care and bring college back to the prison following its elimination in the 1990s.
I spent this summer in the wilderness, traversing the Wind River Range that runs through Wyoming. I completed a Wilderness First Responder Certification course and an Outdoor Educator course, with the goal to someday teach in the backcountry. We spent the days climbing the crumbling sides of the cirque and nights around campfires and tucked into our tents. Looking back at these images, I can’t remember the last time I felt so full of life. Thank you @david_doddridge for your stunning shots 📸

More photos from last night’s protest in D.C. when hundreds shut down the main thoroughfare between the White House and the Capitol, stopping traffic for hours and blocking President Biden’s motorcade en route to the State of the Union.
I joined protesters this morning calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza as they shut down entrances to the Brooklyn Bridge, the Manhattan Bridge, the Williamsburg Bridge, and Holland Tunnel in NYC.
Over 300 people were arrested. Their demands:
1. Immediate, permanent ceasefire
2. Lift the siege on Gaza
3. Free all Palestinian prisoners
4. End the occupation
5. End US "aid" to Israel
Tonight I joined hundreds in the streets of Newark, NJ for an interfaith action organized by @jvpcentralnj and JVP-Northern NJ to demand @corybooker call for for an immediate ceasefire and an end to Israel’s genocidal war on Palestinians in Gaza. #ceasefirenow #letgazalive
