Some install shots of ‘The Profit of Pain’ @freerangeshows 2025. It was such a huge honour to be named as one of the top 10 artists by @odtakeovers alongside one of my bestest pals @zlmnt . This show was an absolute joy to take part in, I absolutely loved meeting fellow graduates and exploring the endless works on display, I look forward to visiting again one day! Big shout out to @martinseeds and @asajohannes for helping us get things up on the walls!

The police: weaponised with school boy grins, the threat of “accountability” and pepper spray. 23/03/2024: A far right, anti-trans medical lobby group held their first conference in London. Trans friends and allies stood together outside. Together we chanted: We are the people We won’t be silenced Stop the conference Now now now now now

This is TReNBI FC, an exclusively TNBI+ football community here in Brighton and Hove. They provide free football sessions every Saturday for any TNBI+ person who wants to play - no matter their previous football experience. TReNBI is a safe space amongst the hostile landscape that is currently being created by policy makers in sport. Transphobic policy such as the FA’s ban of trans women from the women’s league and their requirement of trans men to declare their biological sex in order to play have made football and entirely unwelcoming space for TNBI+ folks. Last weekend TReNBI brought together teams from across Sussex to participate in their Football vs Transphobia tournament, raising money for their equity fund and awareness of the current transphobia occurring in the game. This tournament and these portraits act as a reminder to policy makers that trans, non-binary and intersex sports people exist, belong, and will not stop playing.

I am cornish and I am trans too. My homesickness is a result of a sticky confused recipe, lives in two parts that bite at each other, argue together and sometimes dance and sing in unison. In my camp affection the chain between my home and I lengthens and I am left wondering if I might return at all. Let me walk the harbour’s steps till the water’s edge. Let me run my fingers along the barnacles there, and sit without the worry of tide releasing me from my feet. I’ve grappled my way over cobbles, pushed myself up and out of chimneys and through deep cottage windows to escape. But in sleep I hear the river trickle past my old room. Alone I layer harmony onto my dad’s shanty voice and in wisps of Brighton’s wind I see the Gunnera leaves crack and bruise at the foot of my garden. Maybe I’ll carry it all about with me instead, in badges, tartans and mumbled phrases.

‘Reimagining Gwendolen’ In collaboration with @futurecreatorsuk and @littlehamptonmuseum Arun youth were able to experiment with props, dress and pose, all in Littlehampton’s very own Town Council Millennium Chamber. Here, hangs a portrait of Gwendolen, Duchess of Norfolk. This portrait holds significant local heritage. An almost identical oil painting of the duchess, created by the same local artist, Maurice Randall, was presented to the Duke and Duchess of Norfolk on the occasion of their marriage in 1904 by the people of Littlehampton and is now displayed at Arundel Castle, the Norfolk’s ancestral home. In 1936, Randall gifted a pastel version of the portrait to the people of Littlehampton, which was unveiled in an opening ceremony attended by Gwendolen’s son Bernard, Duke of York and the artist. This version has remained on display in the millennium chamber for the last 90 years! This project was an absolute joy to be apart of and allowed Littlehampton’s young people to take ownership over a prominent part of the town’s history and legacy. Continuing a story of Gwendolyn, through recreation and representation. These images, along with other works by these young people and a mural by @benrcav are exhibited @littlehamptonmuseum until the end of April. đŸ’« #youthvoices #community

@jagoimaging is this month’s Platform Monthly! February 2026 Anna Warin is a young photographer, working in the lens of queer and trans issues. As a non-binary person their identity often bleeds into this work as they examine their own relationship with transness through self-portraiture, exploring both their experiences of binding and top surgery in the uk. This intimate connection with the subject matter has motivated them to create portraits that are empowering for both the models themselves and a wider trans audience. Through this empowerment, they aspire to peel away at the moral panic surrounding queer people in the uk. Operating on the belief that greater photographic representation of minority groups generates agency, providing a voice to those who have often felt voiceless.  ‘Candescent bodies’ Candescent bodies is a rich portrait series celebrating the many facets of the lgbtq+ community. Here memories and feelings drawn from experiences of queerness accompany each image. These emotional insights are comprised from a series of interviews with the sitters, each informing expression, personal stylings and pose. Through this array of personality, we notice how colour nurtures our own human understanding of identity and vibrancy of authenticity.  __ #Photoworks #Photoworkslab #PlatformMonthly

Me and @tyler.mwise have been up and down East Sussex for @dabbble_awi talking to year 10s about what they want most from the world of work. Using old magazines, catalogues and pamphlets, these young people were able to envision the different career paths they might want to venture towards. What stuck with me the most from these workshops was year 10s desire to be recognised as a young adults capable of positively contributing to a work environments rather than being viewed as disruptive teens. These young people vocalised a story of misunderstanding, and explained to me and Tyler the ageism and microagressions they face, and how negativity from older peers often affects their ability to gain valuable work experiences. It is so important that youth voice is embedded into the fabric of our working world đŸ’ȘđŸ’Ș

I’ve been thinking a lot about success lately and what it means. I think I’ve been keeping my definition of it far too restricted, that success was living independently and sustaining a living, particularly in a city, but I realised success can be so many things. Like just being alone on a beach or off in nature somewhere, choosing to be there. Or surrounded by your friends at the pub, people you wouldn’t have met if you didn’t go exploring. Or maybe after some amazing adventures you decide you are at your happiest in your home county. I’m learning and will continue to learn is that there is no one definition, that it’s different for everyone. Here’s to defining our own successes.

I am very excited to report that my photo project 'The Profit of Pain' will be featured in Crane Kalman's annual graduate showcase CREAM. From experimental darkroom imagery, to deeply expressive portrait work, I feel very honoured to be featured alongside such incredible young artists. Held at the University of Brighton’s Edward Street Gallery, ‘The Profit of Pain’ discusses uk healthcare systems in its behaviour towards the trans community. Using my own experience as a trans-masculine individual, I track a personal journey through both private sector and nhs funded spheres, utilising self-portraiture and medical documents to tell my story. In a contemporary society where trans people sit in at the heart of a moral panic, this body of work is becoming increasingly necessary, rightfully advocating for young trans voices to enter the public debate over their rights. Many thanks to @zlmnt for her curatorial and organisational efforts in the run up to this fantastic show. Swing by and check it out!
