Have you heard of The Hiding Place? They are next up in our 'Meet the Artist' series for 'Sounds Like Us' at @brightonfestival as one of our performers 🎶 We are The Hiding Place, a Brighton based acoustic duo consisting of Eve on twelve-string guitar and vocals, and Tali on six-string guitar and vocals. Though we usually play as part of our indie-rock band, we are excited to be performing an acoustic set for this gig. Many of our musical influences are acts from the 60s, like The Velvet Underground, Bob Dylan, Nico, The Stooges, The Rolling Stones, Joan Baez, and François Hardy. These have fed heavily into our own songwriting, and as part of our set, we will be performing some of our originals alongside covers. We love to include interweaving guitar parts in our playing and use frequent vocal harmonies to add a sense of layering in our idiosyncratic polyphonic textures. Book your tickets now to see an exclusive live performance of their work alongside 8 other amazing artists, writers and musicians from across Sussex and Brighton and Hove! More info and tickets are available through the links in our bio

The next artist we are introducing for Sounds Like Us is one of our visual artists, Amber 🎨 Amber Lucia (she/they) is a multidisciplinary artist working across digital art, painting and moving image, exploring themes of identity and belonging. They will be creating a mixed-media artwork blending painting, collage and digital art, exploring how 1960s counterculture continues to echo through contemporary youth identity and music culture today. As a queer non-binary artist, she plans to explore how collective experiences can foster connection and visibility. @amberlucia.png Don't miss out on these fantastic events - see the links in our bio to get your tickets and find out more about both events!
