Today my fren Jaclyn and I got to visit Queen Bee Juicery and oh my gosh everything is soooooo delish and healthy!!! So glad we got to visit and found a new fav spot! Back on my strict regime! Spent this afternoon supporting Yvette Tello, publisher of La Prensa Texas @laprensatx , as an Impact & Legacy Nominee at the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Women Leadership Luncheon @sahispaniccc . So many incredible women in one room truly embodying what it means for women to support women — women who make space at every table and never exclude others. Those are my kind of people. ❤️ Then spent the early evening with my mentee Avianca @aviously_28 at the inaugural Latido Festival @latidofestivalsatx supporting Llamativa, @llamativaofficial an all-women Tejano band bringing energy, culture, and empowerment to the stage (fun fact my friend award winning @littlemisstnt wrote 🖊️ a song or two!) . When I talk about women empowerment, it’s never just for one day; it’s every single day for me. Grateful for another meaningful day surrounded by community, culture, and strong women leaders. Spent our Saturday giving back with the San Antonio Coalition of Veterans & Families at the ✈️ Great Texas Air Show I was on lemonade duty 🍋 and proud to share that 10% of proceeds go directly toward housing support for our Veterans. After my father passed, I learned so much more about who he was and who he wasn’t. More importantly, I saw firsthand the gaps in services he needed as a Veteran. That perspective is why this work matters so deeply to me. Tomorrow, they’re still looking for volunteers for a few hours to help serve our community. They always ask me… how did a girl from San Antonio end up building a career in New York City and then choose to come back home? The truth is… it was never just about leaving. It was about learning. I left San Antonio with big dreams, a lot of grit, and no roadmap, no "let me call my family if I can't make rent"; just faith that there was more out there. New York City sharpened me. It taught me how to move with urgency, how to build in rooms I wasn’t invited into, and how to turn vision into reality. Over 20 years, I built a career in media, production, and public relations; working with Fortune 500 brands, communities, and policies that shaped real impact (to the tune of $24 Million contracts for minority women, businesses ). But somewhere along the way, I realized… success doesn’t mean as much if you don’t bring it back home. So I did. I came back to San Antonio with a purpose; to build, to create opportunities, and to make sure the next generation doesn’t have to leave to be seen, heard, or successful. Now, I get to share that journey. I’m honored to be speaking at the Women Launch San Antonio this May at Launch San Antonio @launchsatx hosted by Geekdom @geekdomsa where we’ll talk about entrepreneurship, resilience, and what it really takes to build something meaningful. I deserve a taco 🌮 Started the day at the JV Float Parade → picked up signage for installation for Saturday → headed to Roman’s spring performance → over to PACFest with @laprensatx → then to the warehouse testing lights + equipment for the Fiesta Flambeau Parade with @littlemisstnt @rev_ray_music → quick reset for dinner at Hotel Valencia @hotelvalenciarw with my mentee Avianca @aviously_28 → and ended the night laughing at Cornyation.
