INTRODUCING JACK READ
Jack Read is a DJ and record collector with a deep knowledge of house, hip hop, dub and leftfield electronica that speaks to the body & soul. Jack is 1/4 of the team (and the graphic designer) behind Corner Store - a Pōneke dance music collective and record label. Together with Isobel Caroll, he also hosts ‘In Good Company’, a monthly show on Mouthfull Radio focused on the sharing of music between friends, whānau and a wider community. With selects old and new to ignite the dancefloor.

Streaming out of Te Whanganui-a-Tara, ‘in good company’ is a show focusing on the sharing of music between friends, whānau and a wider community. Featuring regular guests sharing their unique tastes in music. We want this show to capture a wide range of musical discoveries through the people we meet along the way.
Join us from 1-3pm every last Saturday of the month for 2 hours of curated tunes from Isobel, Jack and friends.

Communitas; latin for community is defined within Anthropology as “the sense of sharing and intimacy that develops among persons who experience liminality as a group.”
Our exhibition looks to Wellington’s club and skate culture as an example of our own Communitas. Creating a space in which the urban audience of Pōneke are considered not as consumers and producers, but as sensory beings.
