Studio process.
Making 'Kerb, Gutter, floral foam' 2025.
Loads of experiments, mistakes, tests, lists, material combinations in the making of these floral foam works.
Specifically working out how to soak or embalm these foam sheets with resin so they wouldn't fade, warp or discolour.
Worked out adding about 10% rubbing alcohol meant the resin sets with a slight flex, so its forms a strong flexible and invisible coating on the surface of the foams sheets.

Day 9 of our 12 days of Christmas Contemporary Art Advent Calendar ✨️ is @jackbrownwork with his work Trinkets. 2019.

A set of trinkets or good luck charms have been attached to silver necklaces and hung within the street grids of Barrow.
Each trinket has been made from items Jack has collected since he was a child; marbles, shiny stuff, toys cars, buttons – small objects charged with personal hidden meaning, full of luck, good fortune and mystic power.
They are there now, somewhere in Barrow, hanging under the towns surface, within its civic infrastructure, just out of sight, warding off misfortune, occasionally glinting in the sun and catching someone’s eye.

KNIP Session #3
Today we ventured out of Stockport to visit @paradiseworks_ in Salford. Huge thank you to @jackbrownwork who guided us around - giving us a sneak peak in various artist studios, a tour of his fantastic work displayed in his temporary ‘studio-gallery’ and letting us have a squeeze on some floral bricks 🧱
Today’s trip was about the KNIP cohort taking the vocabulary and ideas that they’ve been exploring with us for the last 3-weeks out of PINK to investigate how other organisations and institutions use them.
What a fantastic way the close out the year. 2025, you’ve been a blast 💥
KNIP is a paid, Youth Advisory Board + Work/Learn Programme designed for 18 - 24 yr olds designed to put young voices at the centre of PINK.
KNIP literally flips PINK on its head and now stands for Knowledge, Nurture, Inspire & Present - encompassing our ambitions for this programme. We value young people’s perspectives as integral to the development of local culture.
KNIP is supported using funding from the UK Government

The works have been acquired for the gallery's permanent collection.
