New music of mine coming out on 1st September!
So, this one is therapeutic for me.
I’m proud to say that I’ve benefited from therapy in my childhood as well as adulthood and had to deal with a load of psychological nonsense, just like so many other people.
And writing music has been a particular liberation for me, to be able to be at peace with certain issues I’ve experienced
I’ve really enjoyed writing this one, and it would on the surface or initial listen, seem to come across as a downbeat, melancholic song, especially with the obvious influence of Jeff Buckley and Radiohead ( 2 of my favourites).
However, it’s the opposite. It’s absolved feelings I could have done without and made me feel good
I’m very aware this is self indulgent, but, artwork is meant to be that way. I’m really proud of it and I hope you will give it a listen.
At the end of the day, I love it and that’s what’s most important, but it would be great for you tune into it too.
Music industry is utter bollocks and I am too old and pessimistic about the game you have to play in order for your music to be branched out to wider audiences. I’m not in it for that.
Besides, my music isn’t in any way for a broad taste haha.
I know it’s a very, very small amount of people and I’m really cool with that.
I do it to scratch an itch and for something I’ve created, to just be out there for someone to listen to and have an opinion of is fine with me.
It took over 30 years to finally not care what people think. It feels good. And a lot of the meaning behind this song is relevant to that somewhat zen I am in.
So, as I have repeatedly said, new music next week.
I have the privilege of the amazing voice of
@richardthefourth_ Rich Wilkes taking the lead on vocals along with other stellar Bristol musicians and please give a listen!
Thanks!
