By this song they are bonded together and connected over far distances. It is the crucial part of the humpbacks communication to stay together as a pod/group. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This wall is located right by the seaside at 60 Knightstone Rd, Weston-super-Mare. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀I had an absolute blast painting with a fantastic view over the shore while being greatly taken care of by the @westonwallz / @upfest team and neighbors surrounding the wall. Invisible cages. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Not all walls are visible and not every barrier can be seen. I painted the story of all the lil birds that won't go near the noise pollution of cities, staying away from it in a cage defined by the fear of the city noises. Probably the great tit is not always one of them but it is a bird I like a lot. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I had an absolutely fantastic time @swindonpaintfest meeting old friends and making new ones. Marionette King. When the @yourbanart festival approached me to paint this wall, @philipputhmann mentioned a massive chrome bombing right next to it, questioning the concept of power. With this inspiration I went for an apex predator, a king with strings attached. While working, I had the worst possible weather, but thanks to the fantastic hospitality, strong painting assistance, and wonderful people, it felt like four days of summer. New Habitat An eagle owl captured mid-landing in its nest under construction, surrounded by the stone desert of the Codaçal limestone quarry. I painted this piece on a wall made of huge, rough stone blocks. After looking into research on biodiversity in quarries, I discovered that eagle owls are among the animals that benefit from the rocky landscapes of abandoned quarries. So maybe, in a few years, one will come to breed among the stones of this surreal place. I had an absolute blast these past few days painting at @stoneartpt alongside fantastic painters and wonderful sculptors. Harbour watch. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A peregrine falcon snatching a riverboat surround by the abstract blend of nature shapes and concrete right in the harbour of Wageningen. When Kai @kai_semor and me @jack_lack_ were asked to paint this 56-meter-high raw concrete wall, it was immediatly communicated that painting in early spring is taboo as this is breeding season for the falcon living on top*. So naturally, he became the protagonist of the painting: the bird that dictates the working schedule around the harbour. He lives up there in an odd symbiosis with us - profiting from the tall building and keeping the local pigeon population in check. So in a way he is being fed by the building, so we gave him one of the big riverboats stopping right in front of the wall as a snack. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ * Who would have known that this cheeky bird will be super successful in the breeding season and stop our first attempt to paint this wall end of spring because of 3 eagle babies 😄 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📍 Location: Rijnhaven, 6702 DT Wageningen, Niederlande ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀It was an absolute journey painting this one and we finally threw it on the wall in just a few days.
