Still one of my personal favs, the cover artwork for the long awaited third and last part of the mighty GUMBO trilogy by Vienna's finest, Brenk Sinatra. It always feels amazing to get a copy of the record you designed. Some more vinyls will launch this year.

About the artwork, knowing that this is the third and last part of an epic trilogy, the cover art had to be some boss level dopeness. This album marks a transition in Brenk's life as an artist, musician and label owner.
The artwork has an future retro vibe. A kind of shaman practicing his rituals. The rituals of rhythm. A bunch of drums, scepter and all kind of relics that make noises and sounds. I tried to imagine how some venerable relics might look like that make the sounds you can find in the tracks of Gumbo III. The illustrations are chopped like the samples/beats are. The whole scenery had to be kinda futuristic but natively raw at the same time. Like a post modern times dystopia. The back cover has plenty of references to planetary constellations, instruments to explore the depths of planets and space. Well, maybe a bit too much ideas to describe everything in detail here. Long story short, enjoy the record ✌️✨

A while ago I did this mural in the hottest week of the year. It was my part for the ArtWalk Saarbrücken, an attempt to establish an open air gallery. Unfortunately it fell asleep in the follow year. Nevertheless I appreciated the opportunity to do a freestyle mural in the city I live for a while now. Still like this work a lot and think I will continue doing some new works for The Grey Series from this year on.

Cone The Weird entwickelte seine Bildsprache aus Graffiti, Urban Art und Wandmalerei heraus und arbeitet zugleich in Zeichnung, Druckgrafik und digitaler Collage. Seine häufig figürlich angelegten Arbeiten verbinden symbolische Ebenen mit einer präzisen formalen Ausarbeitung. Heute lebt er in Saarbrücken und arbeitet in der Großregion sowie international.
