Another new workshop! Just a week after the Introduction to Shadow Puppetry workshop I'll be hosting a deeper dive into Shadow Puppet Mechanisms. This class will not have the fun looseness of the intro course but we will discuss the engineering principles that go into some shadow puppets and build several examples in increasing complexity.

Last year I got to make some incredible and fun puppets but this dog for the @paddleboat.theatre production of "The Jolly Christmas Postman" has to be one of my favourite builds in a very long time.
I was given a lot of room to play with finishes and simple techniques that I've not explored in a long time. Thanks to Katy and everyone involved for getting me in to build something so satisfying and fun.

WORKSHOP ALERT!
Puppet place will be hosting 6 different workshops during Bristol Schools October Half-term!
October 27th and 28th @helenahoughton and @jonathanevefilm will be hosting stop motion taster sessions for ages 12+. Their set up includes an introduction to sand on glass and paper puppet animation and 2 different stop motion apps.
Tickets are £15 and each class can fit 8 people
October 29th @izzlebee will be hosting a drop in button marionette workshop from 10-12, suitable for 6+. Free but with a suggested donation of £5. In the afternoon there will be 2 sessions where you can build your own handkerchief marionette. This workshop is 12+ and costs £12 a ticket
October 30th @aracelipuppetheatre will run object manipulation workshops. More details on this specular workshop will come soon.
Halloween @izzlebee will bring out something spooky with shadow puppet workshops all day. Pick and Mix Shadow Monsters drop in sessions for 6+ in the morning. Free with optional donation. In the after there will be 2 sessions for 12+ making shadow puppets of classic monsters.
