Meet Ivana.
Her anxieties are pretty specific to her - but the feeling of having to perform? Of having to present a version of ourselves that’s most palatable, even to a therapist? That’s something a lot of us can relate to.
But when we’re brave enough to take a seat; to share and own our human-ness, lay down our messiness, and allow someone else to help us pick it back up? Oof. That’s where the magic happens. And the most magic part of all is realising we’re all just as messy as each other. (Therapists included).
Well well well! I’m having my first solo show in a couple of weeks and I’m *not* feverishly excited.
Will be a summary of the work I’ve been making and thinking about in the past couple of years, with a lot of new work I can’t wait to show you✨ Including a collaboration with the amazing @fransangle . I’m really grateful to @thefeministlectureprogram
and @nunheadcemetery for offering this platform

On the final day, there will be a conversation with @strawberryfields_collective on 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘎£𝘯0𝘤𝘪𝘥£. This collective is local to SE London and they’ve achieved really tangible results in particular with sourcing and delivering baby formula and flour to starving families in G4z4. They also run extremely informative and well researched talks, one for example on the greenwashing of the Isra4£LI settler colonialism.

Madz & I started writing and directing together 5 years ago. From a sold out run of our debut play Boomerang in 3 London venues to gaining representation with @peachhouseltd and moving into screen as well as stage, our journey together has often felt like a relationship without the romance, though our alter egos Linda & Clare would having something to say about that. Long before we began a partnership, Madz had an idea for a short and I was honoured to come on board as associate producer, being there from start to fin. We will open with a bang at Aesthetica Film Festival and more to follow 🎬

I found out via a spam email from Holland & Barrat that it's World Sleep Day today. For anyone who knows me, I nap wherever and whenever. I wish siesta culture was more of a done thing here in the UK but either way, I'ma keep snoozing. Whether you're a night owl & napper like me, a bed by 10pm type, early riser, night shifter, you enjoy your rest time. Sweet dreams🌚🌛🙏🏽💤

Tips to help you drift off nicely....
-Lay out your outfit for the day the night before
-Lavendar oil or a sleep spray of your choice on your linen
-Reading or journaling before bed
-No reading news before bed
- Not falling asleep to anything intense (I learnt the hard way with Texas Chainsaw Massacre on in background, horrible to wake up to in a daze)
-Some deep inhalations & exhalations in through the nose, out through the nose whilst saying to yourself 'I can relax. I have my inner peace to guide me to a place of safety and rest'
