Sneak peek into I Had a Muse written by @itzz_jonathan Maybe the muse never truly leaves. Maybe it just changes shape and waits to be seen differently. © 2026 Jonathan Adamu All rights reserved. Stay tuned for the next screening date.

I Had a Muse is not a love story, at least not in the way one expects, it traces the quieter violences of being an artist: the fear of losing sensitivity, the guilt of turning people into material and the slow almost invisible erosion of feeling when the work stops responding. 📸 @padahs.production_ Shout out to everyone that made this possible. @the.kenke @_blaq.king @konyeha_artceptuality Thank you @vomnetwork for the venue, which is available for wonderfully curated events My book is now available for orders, Link in bio /87776478a6

Sometime last year, I had the idea to put together a script for a short film. I had never written anything to that degree before, aside from the poetry I occasionally dabble in. As someone who is predominantly a visual artist, this was a very different form of creative expression than what I’m used to. So I started writing. I told a story, partially my own, about the loss of passion. I poured my heart and mind into it. But writing it was only the first step; the real task was bringing it to life. I had my eyes on some talented individuals, @the.kenke and @_blaq.king . I shared the script with them and they were on board. I then reached out to Smart to be my DP, and he also assisted with direction. For a few scenes, I needed paintings, which @konyeha_artceptuality generously provided. And when it came to securing a location for one of the scenes, @victorolophastudios graciously made his space available, and a big thank you to @kiisha.brown for the costumes. In many ways, this film became a different kind of curation for me. Producing and directing were very different shoes to fill, but I found that I truly enjoyed wearing them. The entire process was deeply fulfilling, and I’m excited to finally share what we created very soon.
