Put my whole heart into this project, out now on @dazed 🥹 I spent the first months of the year in Thailand training alongside the boys of Rawai Muay Thai. Muay Thai has a reputation for being one of the most brutal combat sports, but there is so much camaraderie and kindness and joy there, too. Part of the magic of Rawai is that it’s an inter-generational gym and a tapestry of both blood and chosen families. The kids there train day in and day out, going through every high and low together. They make balancing strength and tenderness look easy. It’s a version of boyhood that we’re maybe just starting to celebrate. Big thank you to @sam.moore94 for the thoughtful interview, @campillo575 for schlepping me half an hour to Takua Pa for nine foot rolls of canvas, @sirireyem for being my kid wrangler, and everyone else from my second home @rawaimuaythai for welcoming me back with open arms. Always, always missing you. See you soon.

Was interviewed so thoughtfully by @syazilabdrahim for the February print issue of @lofficielmy . Got to yap about my upbringing and how that has influenced my approach to photography. A pleasure. Thank you again @syazilabdrahim !

I’ll be arriving in Milan at the end of this week for the @photovogue festival! Excited to see images from my Muay Thai series ‘Mongkol’ displayed and to join a panel talk with @adamlinhc , @roxanarios_studio , @lailaannmarie , and @symbiosity . Feels full circle to have spent the last three months in Thailand living and breathing this sport, and to end the trip by showcasing the images I made while on a similar trip one year ago. Grateful to be here 💌

View finder. “After flying into Anchorage, the quickest way to reach Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula is by way of a 12-seat puddle jumper. The front seat of one of those planes is where I leaned over with my camera, rapt with awe. I think of every image I take as a portrait: There’s a personality to every mountain, a whole map of history and memory embedded in sharp and softened edges. In March, this view bookended a month-long farm stay with a mushing family in Soldotna, a town of 5,000 inhabitants that dots the western edge of the peninsula. Looking for respite from city life, I found my days in Alaska gorgeously slow — mornings with the dogs, drives down to the pebbled beach, walks through iced-over swamps, and wood-fired pizza parties with neighbors amidst snow banks.” A special place from photographer @itsisabellezhao . The knitters of @hanianewyork for @dossier.mag (out in print now)! Hania is a luxury knitwear company founded by Anya Cole, a former principal dancer for the American Ballet Theatre. She pays a living wage and benefits to her network of local female knitters (mostly immigrant women) all across New York. Was really a pleasure spending a morning with this lovely team.

We are thrilled to continue introducing the 40 artists selected through the Regional Open Call East and Southeast Asian Panorama and the 45 artists from the Global Open Call Women by Women. Chosen from thousands of submissions by our esteemed juries, these artists will be exhibited at the PhotoVogue Festival 2026 in Milan. Today’s first artist is @itsisabellezhao , a Brooklyn-based Chinese American photographer. Her work ‘Mongkol’, selected through our Regional Open Call, reveals the striking warmth and tenderness beyond the fighters’ grit at a family-run Muay Thai gym.

My friend Bryndon is about to release his new album, Professional Wrestler, and he was kind enough to let me shoot the artwork for it. His new single and video drop October 10, give it a listen. Swipe to see what a small town New York is (we met this year, but he’s been in my camera roll since 2023 thanks to @maggierogers ’s Forest Hills show).
