Proms season is just around the corner and here is a video as shared by BBC Arts across all parts of the BBC. A stone cold classic on the Northern Soul scene #itsdarrellsmith #darrellsmith #bbcproms #northernsoul #keepthefaith
In answer to yesterday’s question: Which was the last song to be played at Wigan Casino?
Well, according to Russ Winstanley, he played Frank Wilson’s ‘Do I Love You (Indeed I Do) at the ‘final’ all nighter on 19th September 1981 (numerous video interviews are available online)
However, in his book with David Nowell, its states a couple more ‘final’ all nighters happened on 2nd October 1981 and lastly 6th December 1981.
So it is a convoluted situation. The 6th December all nighter was “only three quarters full”, according to DJ Dave Evison (as told in the book pictured). So it is still up for debate to a degree. The people who were there, as ever, will be an infinitely better authority than me. One thing is certain, it all adds to the legend that is Wigan Casino. #wigancasino #allnighter #northernsoul #keepthefaith
Here’s a clip of Northern Soul Classic I’m On My Way and the last song of the Three Before Eight. The second to last song played at Wigan Casino. Does anyone know the last song at the Casino Club? No cheating #northernsoul #keepthefaith #wigancasino
Tour Diary Episode 3. We had an incredible evening in Newcastle Upon Tyne at the Tyne Theatre and Opera House. Rare air in the room. Thank you for your continued support on this tour and please like share and save and, as ever, #keepthefaith #northernsoul #tour
Episode 2 of some behind the scenes shenanigans from the tour. This week, it’s footage from our Lichfield Cathedral gig. Let me know if this is of interest and, as always, save, like, share and follow. Spread the word of Northern Soul and #keepthefaith
Some behind the scenes footage from my recent show in Ramsgate at the Granville Theatre. Remember, there are lots of opportunities to see my shows this year with the Soul Brothers Syndicate. KTF and love from Darrell

Thanks to everyone that came to see me at Ramsgate or Lichfield Cathedral this weekend. I hope you enjoyed yourselves.
May is another busy month with dates in Newcastle, Stoke and Barnstaple. That’s a lot of miles! And not long now until the London debut on 24th.
Ticket link in bio.
Really hope to see you soon.
Keep the Faith. This show just gets better and better and we couldn’t do it without your support
Darrell
PS Don’t forget to follow me here for all the updates on dates and new music.
Are you dancing?
I’m asking a genuine question: do you prefer to watch a concert from the comfort of a seat, or do you prefer to have the option to dance?
I really enjoy the shows where everyone gets up to dance, the energy hits differently. Northern Soul was made for dancing, don’t you think? Don’t forget to Like, share, save and follow. Keep the Faith
Looking forward to seeing you in Kent this Friday. Let’s hope it’s sunny!
