World premiere incoming ✹ 'In the Hall of the Clockwork Dancer' by @rcsofficial composer Andrew Jacob is performed at our Emerging Conductors Showcase on 26 June at Glasgow City Halls. Andrew describes the work as “exploring the unsettling elegance of an automaton dancer through nuanced metres and irregular rhythms — a mechanical dance that is playful yet increasingly erratic, both mesmerising and unnervingly alive.”

They risked everything for love. Experience the passion and tragedy of Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers through Prokofiev’s epic ballet score for 'Romeo and Juliet'. This Sunday afternoon, Emilia Hoving conducts one of classical music’s most powerful love stories. Also featured is Glasgow-born accordion virtuoso Ryan Corbett, performing a concerto written especially for him by fellow Scot Jay Capperauld. Galvanic Dances, inspired by Luigi Galvani’s eerie electrical experiments in the 1700s, reimagines the story of Frankenstein as a sequence of high-energy dances, a musical creation crackling with life! The concert opens with a UK premiere by Finnish composer Outi Tarkiainen, an 11-minute surge of hope that reflects on life’s unpredictability and the powerful currents carrying us beyond our control. Sun 17 May, 2pm, Glasgow City Halls
