Working on Elgar Concerto with @copenhagenphil and @emiliahoving this week has been one of the processes in my life. Elgar Concerto is the reason I started playing cello, and playing this in my hometown and most beautiful hall in Copenhagen feels just very very close to the heart. So happy tonight is a sold out hall and cant wait for the community that this music creates (and has created) more than almost any other music I know.🥺❤️❤️

On the programme Elgar’s Cello concerto with @jonswensencello , Sibelius’ 2nd symphony (btw love to do this during spring time!) and a world premiere by @matias.vestergard , among other things 😍 🎶 23.4 Helsingborg Returning to @helsingborgssymfoniorkester this month, with music by Smetana and Tarkiainen and @peter.jablonski performing Bacewicz’ beautiful piano concerto 🌟 Looking forward! 🎶 6.5 Helsinki A celebration of young talent!! The legendary @yle_rso Young Soloist’s Concert is here and I’m thrilled to be conducting it 🤩 🎶 17.5 Glasgow Lovely to return to @bbcsso in May with a wonderful programme! We are performing the UK premiere of Tarkiainen’s Rapids of Life, a new accordeon concerto with @ryan.accordion by @jaycapperauld and selections of Romeo and Juliet by Prokofiev 🥰 🎶 21.5 Manchester Debut with @the_halle ! 💫 @annalapwoodorgan is presenting two exciting pieces by Poulenc and @karakelyancomposer and the evening concludes with Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story (always such great fun to conduct this!) Maailman eniten onnea 80-vuotiaalle Länsi-Helsingin musiikkiopistolle! 🎉 Oli kunnia osallistua juhlallisuuksiin viikonloppuna ja mieli vielä liikuttunut esityksistä, puheista ja ihmisten näkemisestä. Länskäri oli valtava osa mun musiikkipolkua koko lapsuuden ajan; aivan vauvamuskarista läpi piano-, klarinetti-, vapaasäestys- ja teoriaopintojen 18-vuotiaaksi asti. Oli lämmittävää ja suuri ilo nähdä pitkästä aikaa lauantaina kaikkia näitä opettajia, jotka ovat muovanneet minua muusikkona. Suurin kiitos kaikki entiset opettajat ❤️ ja ELÄKÖÖN LÄNSKÄRI ja musiikkiopistot ympäri maan, jotka teette äärimmäisen tärkeää työtä lasten musiikkiharrastusten sekä Suomen kulttuurielämän vuoksi ! Toinen kuva on opettajani Liisa Ukkosen ottama, jollain pianotunnilla joskus sinä keväänä kun Länskärisä valmistuin. 🙏
