My co-host
@lizabilal and I will also going to be joined by Charlie from Easton Cowfolk ahead of their event at St Paul's Learning Centre on Monday 27th April. The Legacy of St Paul's Carnival - A powerful film screening and discussion exploring Black resistance in Bristol.
Easton Cowfolk Radical Film Club presents the final part of a 3-part series on the history, struggle, and resilience of Black communities in the UK, with a specific focus on Bristol.
Rooted in the traditions of the Windrush generation, St Paul’s Carnival is a community-led, volunteer-run, intergenerational celebration of the heritage, culture, and creativity of Bristol’s Black Afro-Caribbean community. It centres these experiences while remaining open and welcoming to the wider community.
After a three-year pause, the Carnival returns on 4th July 2026, continuing its long-standing tradition of taking place on the first Saturday of July. This year’s theme, New Beginnings, Traditional Values, reflects a commitment to honouring cultural roots while looking ahead. We find out more when Charlie from Easton Cowfolk join us.
