Basilio’s story is one of grit, vision, and deep community leadership. Born in Sant’Onofrio, Calabria, he immigrated to Canada in 1966 with little more than a trade, determination, and a dream. From working as a technician at a local gas station to becoming a key figure in Honda Canada’s early growth, Basilio helped build what would become the @policarogroup , now one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, with 10 dealerships, a leasing company, and a significant real estate portfolio. Beyond business, he has always given back through sports leadership, community service, and philanthropy, including the work of the Policaro Foundation supporting SickKids and many charitable causes across the GTA. Above all, Basilio’s greatest pride remains his family: 56 years of marriage to his beloved Marianna, three children, and ten grandchildren.
