« Classic dark acid techno » is all I’m aiming for with this vinyl release. Four out of five tracks were produced this summer with that mindset. This also marks my first real approach to techno music, which is probably my go-to genre at the moment. Fresh Mechatronicast courtesy of Strasbourg’s finest: Itako! Itako has been exploring all corners of electronic music and as a DJ and producer he captures a certain adventurous, all killer-no filler attitude & sound in his productions and DJ sets that make them distinctively him. Playing with both trends and nøn-trends, in his mixes and through the evolution of his releases as well, he serves masterful concoctions of chugging acid, psychedelic industrial, breaks heavy bass music and trippy techno. The quality and range of his output is undeniable seeing his releases on labels as Sonic Groove, Lone Romantic, Reach Another System, Samo and Samet. He is based in Strasbourg where he is a resident at club @karmen.camina , one of European nightlife’s hidden gems. The mix he recorded for us is an excerpt of one of these booming nights at Karmen Camina; 1,5 hours of trippy, underground goodness for the heads 🦾 + it’s also a pretty damn good soundtrack to start of your Halloween weekend 😎 Happy Halloween! 🎃👽👻 🎃Link in Bio ☣️

I'm struck by the idea of being surrounded not just by bodies, but by minds, all different, each one capable of interpreting the world in its own way, shaped by personal experience. I’m equally unsettled and fascinated by the fact that I’m one of those individuals too. Right now, I’m just trying to become the best version of myself. Partying and all the forms of connection that come with it have become a kind of beautiful playground for that; a space to explore how to move, listen, take space, or step back. A school for sharpening a sense of self. Especially now, when club culture has become more accessible, more layered, and more often used to carry messages that reach far beyond four walls. It feels meaningful to give those messages our time to tune in, and grow. One place to start might be by reflecting on our own privileges, or by noticing who gets overlooked in the room, and choosing to make space. Now that I’m playing regularly at @karmen.camina Camina, I’m trying to relearn everything from the ground up. Over time, I’ve grown to appreciate more stripped-down tracks, longer pieces, more minimal stuff. Before I had the chance to regularly experiment on a proper sound system, I don’t think I ever really understood the impact of a bare kick drum on a dancefloor full of people ready to lose themselves. This mix is the first hour of a warm-up set I played until 2AM at @karmen.camina on March 22 2025, and it was fantastic! It was recorded using CDJs and a few records. @zest.radio New Shot // Caught up in the anxieties of life, I forgot to prepare my show the way I usually do : by building in a lot of storytelling. So this one’s very improvised and club-oriented. Not such a bad thing after all! Enjoy

A set I listened to again, and honestly... I find it really good. Opening slowly with the beautiful eerie voice of @noakurzweil , then switching to beats with the bass-techno hybrid of @ndegrandi . Incredible poet-performer @tonymorrisssss , whom I discovered through his reels, absolutely blasts in right after the granular beat (?!) of @c_a_r_r_i_e_r_ . Richard Fearless from @deathinvegasmusic , a personal classic of mine, comes in next to open your consciousness through acid music, followed by a Spiral Tribe remix of the classic Change by Killing Joke. A definitely grooving beat from Jammin Unit takes the next step, followed by a deep, minimal, psychedelic trip full of delay from @priorato.jpg . @yssue_ is next, an artist I adore, whose tracks are always completely insane and super impressive. Then, Funn Bobby (@october_acid 🤫) delivers a polyrhythmic blast to your speakers for sure! Coming to the end with the deeply regretted Andrew Weatherall and Nina Walsh. Edvard Graham Lewis, who’s been on my radar for a few months now. A witch house track from KROCE. And my repeat track of the moment is from @elaminus to close the set.
