Some of you may have spied the incredible display of Scottish Craft in Milan last week, curated by @bard.scotland for @rangerover . It was an absolute honour to have Las be amongst the 14 crafted objects chosen for the installation at @milan.design.week .
The installation unveiled a one-of-one Range Rover inspired by a pearl from the River Tay, displayed alongside objects of extraordinary Scottish craftsmanship.
'The Pearl of Tay bespoke Range Rover was surrounded by two rows of seven Scottish objects. Each was selected for its material mastery and magic. The effect of these pinnacles of hand and machine on display in such close proximity was beautiful. How uplifting it is to see craft and industry working together like this; it's a gross misconception that one only thrives in replacement of the other.' @bard.scotland
Thank you @hugomacd for championing Scottish Craft, and for inviting Las onto the stage. Thank you too to @storey.studio , @rangerover and @willverity for this brilliant showcase of heart felt work.
A huge highlight of last year was @blackwellartsandcrafts acquiring Cruinnich for their permanent collection.
This marks my first piece in a public collection and it's a joy to see these beautiful images of Cruinnich in her new home.
I'm excited to say that Cruinnich is also to be included in an upcoming exhibition 'Useful/Beautiful' celebrating 25 years of contemporary collecting at Blackwell.
Set throughout the house, the exhibition brings together much-loved works from nationally significant collections alongside Blackwell's most recent acquisitions, supported by the Art Fund’s Sir Nicholas Goodison Award, including Cruinnich.

Twelve contemporary poets were invited to respond to the work of Robert Burns in 2009 by the Scottish Poetry Library. After a glorious weekend of Burns celebrations with friends and family, I thought it apt to share one of my favourites from that anthology and the work it brought about.
My Fiere by Jackie Kay inspired the title of a special editorial shoot imagined up last year by myself and two dear friends. It was a weekend of joyous, creative play, hard work, long hours, good food and full hearts.
My Fiere, Jackie's take, and ours. ♥️

New feature in @astep.design showroom In Copenhagen 💫
Drop 002 from @objective_studies will be at Astep until mid November, and features two of my new steam-bent elm and leather sculptures.
'Cuan Gorm' and 'Cuan Uaine' sit alongside work from nine other international artists (including beautiful pieces by fellow Scot, @scottsmith.design ).
I'm not great at five year plans, but if I had written one - to be represented internationally in such a beautiful space would have been up there. Thank you @objective_studies@astep.design 🤎
A gorgeous commission earlier this year for two Half Moon bags in what has fast become my new favourite colour palette 💙🤎
Saltire blue, a firm favourite, was perfectly paired here with a deep, rich navy cotton.
The chocolate brown is new for me, using a different Italian tannery for a more structured feel. I hand dyed the cotton for this one, creating mottled, softer brown threads to add depth.
All of this to say - commissions for my bags in your own unique colourway are now open. What a dream.

New drop of images from a special editorial shoot, taken with some of my favourite people, in one of my favourite spots just over the glen.
I hope the joy of those few days last April translates to these images and that they do what we set out to: celebrate Scottish design and landscape in a beautiful, fun and contemporary way.

A real pinch me moment to see the design details unveiled for the new @belmondroyalscotsman Grand Suites.
The house I was born and grew up in is on the Kyle of Lochalsh railway line. When I was wee I would wave at the passengers who stood on the balcony of The Royal Scotsman trains and imagine what it was like inside. I thought it was utterly magical - a different life whizzing by.
It's an honour to have been asked by @belmond to design and make the finishing touches to their beautiful suite sofa.
I worked alongside @aramintacampbell whose textiles cover the sofa, to ensure our designs and colour choices were truly harmonious. It's a small touch, but the magic is in the details.
Thank you @belmondroyalscotsman for showcasing local craftsmanship so thoughtfully.

New works at play 🌊
'Cuan’ means ocean in Gaelic. Living by the sea in the north west Highlands, these pieces look to the soft curves of waves for their form.
They’re made of finely milled Scottish Elm, steam-bent without mold or former, to create truly soft, expressive waves.
Once curved, the Elm is cut and hand-sanded, buffed and oiled (again, again and again) to showcase its grain.
Thin leather strips are handwoven and saddle-stitched together to create an exact fit for the wooden form. One in a deep green teal and the other a bold blue.
These new works are currently available at @objective_studies ✨
I’m debuting new work in Copenhagen this week at @3daysofdesign !
Honoured to have been asked to exhibit ‘Cuan' with @objective_studies alongside 9 other international artists.
‘Cuan’ means sea or ocean in Gaelic. Living by the sea, these pieces look to the soft curves of waves for their form.
Materials: Scottish Elm, Italian Vegetable Tanned Leather, Cotton woven in Scotland
Process: Freehand steam bending to create soft, expressive curves, endless sanding, buffing, oiling, hand drilling, traditional saddlery stitching and of course hand-weaving.

Pòca 💗 took down a little trunk of treasures on the sleeper to London the other week for a special person to choose their perfect Pòca.
The lineup:
Dorcha - dark or dusky in Gaelic. Black with navy blue cotton. Inside you’ll find a midnight blue suede lining, as darkness turns to dusk.
Valtos - deep burgundy paired with bright pink. Inspired by hours of joy at 'the pink shell beach' on Valtos on the Isle of Lewis when I was wee. Sunshine orange lining, just for fun.
Saltire - a vibrant, proud blue woven with a deep navy cotton, and midnight blue suede lining for a beautiful tonal finish.
Biscuit - a decadent, caramel tone paired with buttery soft Tablet. Woven with a warm white cotton and a rich olive suede lining.
Italian vegetable tanned leather, Handwoven in Scotland - always. But which colour...
Documenting a rare sight - traded running trainers for heels last week and suited up for the annual @qestcraft@royalwarrantholdersassociation lunch in London 💫
Thank you @liz_isles_photography for capturing the moment when I officially become a #QEST Emerging Maker 🥰
