Day 2 of the Ursula Weekender saw five cultural talks at Braemar Village Hall, bringing together leading voices from across art and culture.
The day opened with the legendary Sir Don McCullin (
@donmccullinphotography ) in conversation with Tim Marlow OBE of
@designmuseum . This was followed by a timely discussion on supporting creativity, hosted by Victoria Siddall of
@nationalportraitgallery , with Allison Berg (
@collectista ) of the A&L Berg Foundation (
@albergfoundation ), Alex Petalas (
@alexvpetalas ) of
@theperimeterlondon and Aric Chen (
@aricchen ) of the
@zahahadidfoundation .
The afternoon sessions kicked off with artist Rashid Johnson (
@rashidjohnson ) in conversation with Katherine Brinson (
@kathbrinson ) of
@guggenheim , followed by Carly Eck of
@burberry with Sarah Douglas (
@sarahdouglas.co ), reflecting on archives and Burberryâs 170th anniversary. The day concluded with Lorna Simpson (
@lornasimpson ) in dialogue with Randy Kennedy (
@bklynkennedy ), Editor in Chief of
@ursulamagazine , around her solo exhibition Third Person at the Pinault Collection at Punta della Dogana in Venice.
The evening began with a
@ruinart reception, followed by an Action Performance by Oddur Roth (
@oddurroth ) and DavĂð ĂĂłr JĂłnsson at Braemar Kirk, in honour of BjĂśrn Roth.
Guests were then treated to The Glenrothes Feastâ an evening of local food, whisky tastings at Bertieâs Bar, live music and fireside conviviality, culminating in the ceremonial smashing of a porcelain case to reveal a 42âyearâold vintage bottle created by
