When her husband, the filmmaker Perry Henzell, died in 2006, Sally Henzell knew that she had to, “in her grief, start again.” So she built Bohemia — a majestic home with almost no interior walls — on Treasure Beach, Jamaica, down the road from Jake’s Hotel (@jakestreasurebeach), which she founded and built in 1991. Much like the rooms at Jake’s, Bohemia is filled with shells, paintings, found wood and curiosities she has collected over the years. It sits in stark contrast to Itopia (slide 2), the 1660s property on the other side of Jamaica, which she and Perry found in the early 1970s and inhabited while their children were young. What a treat to return to writing to profile Sally, her homes and her world — for @tmagazine recent (I’m tragically late to post) Travel Issue. The design brief for Attersee’s first spring delivery, which launched this week, was straightforward: every year around this time, as we emerge from the depths of winter, I suddenly feel like I can’t look at the things I’ve been wearing on repeat for the last four months. But rather than start with a whole new wardrobe, I want just a few key pieces to help freshen everything up — and to transition me out of the winter season. Simple shapes, flattering fits, beautiful fabrics — pieces to wear again and again, and pair with things we already own. Enter Attersee Spring: Vol. I.With special thanks to the beloved @attersee team and @krisztianeder @malinajoseph @jondefranc @_kikigifford_ @aditsa_berzenia @eny.jaki @rachel_chandler

We will have current Attersee collections, new products before they drop online, exclusive styles — and so much more. About a year ago, shortly after my uncle, Bert Fields, died at the age of 93, I found myself sorting through a box of old family photographs. There were Polaroids of Bert presiding over Thanksgiving dinners, an album's worth of portraits of his beloved West Highland Terriers — and, below a particularly thick stack, a photo of him with my aunt, Barbara, on a beach in Zihuatanejo, Mexico one winter around 1994.True to fashion, Bert has on his Speedo, a half-drunk bottle of wine in one hand. Barb is wearing a black bikini with a slouchy t-shirt, which must have been his. I love how oversized it is; it's both a t-shirt and a beach coverup — a top and a mini dress rolled into one. I was thinking about this picture when we set out to create @attersee’s summer collection. We sourced a super-soft jersey and The Beach T-Shirt was born: lightweight enough to wear all summer, but perfect to layer with pants come fall.
