I never thought I would write anything like a restaurant review but here goes: If you are looking for a place with flattering lighting maybe don’t go to Mr $1.50 Pizza, a beacon of late night dining in a less travelled part of the east village and also a literal beacon of alarmingly bright clusters of LED bulbs. If you are ok with the clinical atmosphere the pizza was pretty good and Mr. $1.50 couldn’t have been nicer.
For our cover story out today, I traveled with Nick Haramis to meet Gianenzo Sperone, who introduced Pop art and minimalism to Europe in the 60’s in his Turin gallery. He must have blown their minds! He then turned around and opened a gallery in NYC showing what turned out to be some of the major neoexpressionist painters of the 1980’s. He had endless stories and was all around great fun. I was so happy to have him in the pages of T, because I wanted to show people who throw the word collector around referring to people who buy a lot of art what the term really means. Here are some additional images that I took while I was there.
I promise I won’t constantly post about this rescued puppy, but there is something very touching about a beautiful creature that is totally dependent on you. Plus she has bright green eyes and smells like cookies.
Excited about the Design Issue coming out this Sunday featuring a story about @espaceaygo that @nickharamis found. When the images came across my desk, I literally ran to @hanyayanagihara who agreed that this is makes a great @tmagazine design cover. And thanks to art directors @patrickli__ and Carla Valdivia @katsu_fan
