After nearly ten years of handling Business Development at Reverb.com I have stepped away to find the next challenge.
I am supremely grateful for the experience that I had working at one of the coolest companies in the world for so long. It literally changed my life.
Now it’s time to button mash the video game and check out what’s happening on the next level. I’m not entirely sure what that looks like yet. I’m excited to take a breather, enjoy my summer and find out.

Look out for yourselves. Look out for those around you. See you on the road next week!
Life by design. No jobs. No masters.

Adam and I closed the doors on Type One Studios yesterday. A project that I didn’t have a hand in starting but can partly hang my hat on developing into something truly great.
Matt Jordan and Adam Beck deserve all the credit. They curated something out of nothing. A novel idea. A tale as old as time. But something that was theirs and that they were kind enough to share with myself, Josh Parks, Rodrigo Palma and most recently Simon Small.
In the last two years that we kept T1 running Simon was who REALLY helped turn it into what it became. A living, breathing, lived in creative space. A safe haven for freakazoids, tone chasers and lovers of all things loud.
Collectively we made beautiful and grotesque sounds there. Challenged ourselves as players and tastemakers. Developed our ears and helped friends develop theirs. There is nothing quite like building your own playground. Unlimited freedom.
When people asked about the space I’d describe T1 as “small but mighty”. An unbelievably modest space that produced unbelievably good sounding records. Sometimes the wizard. Sometimes the wand. A little slice of heaven.
Adam and I loaded out the last odds and ends, wrapped Simon’s sandals he left under the desk in an instrument cable and threw them over the gate.
Tomorrow we move into our new home at Reelsounds in Skokie, IL. We are hosting an open house from 12-6 on May 1st and 2nd. Come check out the new digs. Take a look at our beautiful new home. Come make a record with us. We will get you sounding better than you ever have.
To all the bands, engineers, friends and foe’s who gave T1 a shot - Thanks for keeping it going. We always intended it to be a safe space to get weird. The anti-studio. Our playground for everyone
Tunnel Of Reverb forever.

Yesterday was the 10 year anniversary of the Into It. Over It. record titled “Standards” - A labor of love and a writing, recording and subsequent touring experience I’ll never forgot. In hindsight, probably the darkest times for IIOI, shielded in moments of extreme brightness, trust and friendship.
Standards was written in a cabin aptly named Rebel Yell in Craftsbury VT, January 2015. Josh Sparks and I shacked up for about 30 days - Writing and rehearsing music about 10 hours a day. Cooking about 2 hours a day. Tending to the wood burning stove, drinking red wine and smoking pot and cigarettes for the rest of it. This was one of the most cherished months of my entire life. Simple living, a tangible goal, wood shedding figuratively and literally.
In June 2015 Josh and I went to San Francisco CA to record what we’d made at Tiny Telephone studios. The original mission location of TT no longer exists. We recorded and mixed the entire record in about 35 days. All to tape. My favorite madman on earth (John Vanderslice) behind the wheel. The entire experience really opened my eyes to why folks like us do what we do. What drives us. What inspires us. And why music makes us FEEL something. Most of what you hear on the record are single performances. More importantly they are REAL performances. Josh and I had never done anything quite like that before and speaking for myself I’ve never been able to do that again since. We were at the top of our craft at that time.
On March 11th 2016 “Standards” was released on Triple Crown Records and the touring that followed was relentless. It nearly broke the project and reinforced the “why” as the band (myself, Josh Parks, Josh Sparks and Rodrigo Palma) hung it up the following January. I do have rose colored glasses for that era. We were a pirate ship. We were unstoppable. We could play nearly every song from every LP on command. We were able to load off stage and into the van in a matter of minutes. It was consistency. It was fighting shape. It was striving to be the best. We took immense pride in that. It also broke us.

Here's a clip of Hypernormalisation (final minute or so), a new single @intoitoverit put out a few weeks back. This is the bridge to the end from our @metrochicago show, but the whole drum playthrough is available today on the @stormchasersltd Patreon.
As always, massive thanks to @daddarioandco , @evansdrumheads@promarksticks , and @gretschdrums for keeping the show on the road. And of course, to anyone who came out to one of our shows with @minusthebear . What a blast. We'll see you on the road next year.
