Since its creation by Sjoerd Oberman in 2013, the Rotterdam based label has not only built an impressive catalogue, but also fostered a generation of artists moving fluidly through ambient, experimental electronics, and dancefloor oriented sound. Looking back at this night, we’re feeling inspired and thankful for everything that came out of this collaboration with @femmebassmafia and @club.raum . Across both rooms, the night was shaped by a strong sense of connection and a shared focus on sound and experience. While the Expo became a pulsating communion lasting into the early morning, the Boutique invited a different kind of listening; surrounded by shapes, textures, and sonic details that encouraged pauses, curiosity, and exploration. The Berlin-based collective has been providing safer spaces for women, trans and non-binary people to learn and practice DJing and music production. Anchored in sound system culture, the crew has been pushing forward-thinking bass music in clubs around Europe. This time, they will present a full femme line-up experimenting through sounds and genres in a club and a listening room. A slow opening, sun beams through the smoke, a full room, a long dance. Our last event at @noordspace carried us from daylight listening into late-night movement, held together by an experimental soundsystem configuration by @solsystems , beautiful dishes and muchy-worthy pistachio cookies by @monobloc.cuisine , wines by @ericfilipus and @kaislalaranta Special thanks to the artists who carried us through the day and into the night: @badmeesterlennart b2b @dj_delivero , @lex.ex.lex , @ericfilipus and @thelazergazer . This Sunday, we return to our beautiful @noordspace for an intimate celebration. Doors open at 14:00 and will close late. For many years now, @ericfilipus and @kaislalaranta have been part of our journey, elegantly bringing together art, music, and winemaking. After some time in the Barcelona wine scene, they handed over the baton of their wine bar and started to spend more time in the Languedoc region in the south of France, to focus on the craft. Sundays are for... @_____delayed mixes !! Tbh posting this on Monday morning here in Eora as the timezone juggle was hard vs @bbennnybb birthday.. This mix was recorded live on a hazy Sunday in Amsterdam last June.. I had just landed over to Amsterdam for my Summer tour, and played b2b with Konduku at Raum the night before. The promoters Interfering Grounds organised a Sunday get together at Noordspace for the weekends unwind. To DJ for people in rest / recovery is such a nice contrast to my usual selection, it allowed me to delve into music only usually played in my home. Some highlights; CS. On April 26th, we’re returning to Noord Space for a day into night gathering. We begin at 14:00 with a hangout on our terrace, serving lovely food and drinks. As the day progresses we start inside with a listening session, slowly moving towards a dance deep into the night. This edition is rooted in community, with a line-up that will remain a secret until the day itself. The EXPO will open its doors at 23:00 with the club program, while the BOUTIQUE will transform into a listening space and start floating at 00:00. The artists in the listening rooms have prepared very unique performances, please be mindful by keeping your voice down or use the chill areas for conversations. Our event is dedicated to creating a welcoming and safe space where everyone can freely express themselves and feel a sense of belonging. Our listening room offers space to slow down, connect and explore. It is a sense of freedom that is offered to both artists and listeners, one that gently alters sense of time and perspective. Re-imagined and designed to create a warm nest, the Boutique will host a set of very special performances from artists that we are proud to consider of our community. @gemma.maree will open the flow. The talented @surfacemassief crew member will set the intention through a defining selection of records from her collection. Taking over is Tilburg’s DJ and producer @_annebel___ that will debut her live set. A first time that will create memories this Friday at @club.raum . The idea of transforming @club.raum EXPO room into a temple for psychedelic bass music has been taking shape in our imagination for a long time. Femme Bass Mafia has been playing an instrumental role in this ecosystem by curating club nights that promote these sounds and by offering space, education, and support to women, trans, and non-binary aspiring artists. The room’s program is inspired by our shared love for powerful yet deep and intricate low-end sounds, and is designed to create a warm, vibrating dancing cocoon. Playing for the first time at Club Raum, Interfering Grounds crew member @isabelwiltenborough will open the ceremony, guiding us through a fluid blend of bass, breaks, and dubs. After a first duo performance at RSO Berlin in November 2024, FBM founder @d.dangermami and London-based @ehuamusic will take over, increasing the temperature while tightening their connection in music. Closing the night, @basicchanel.mp3 and @ema_jg_ have known each other for many years, yet have never played together. It is their musical bond and friendship that will lead our dance into the early hours.
