“There is something special about an opening set, drawing people into an open and empty space, attracting their curiosity, to lock them into the start of the musical journey is a really exciting feeling for me. With this in mind, I set out with the intention of treating the bar40 space as a painter does with a blank canvas, building it layer by layer to prepare the dancers for the long ride ahead. I feel this is reflected in the music I shared, starting off with light-ish textured sounds into the deeper, dubbed and bass heavy realm. With less than a week to go, we are happy to announce our last artist in the lineup of PEEL at Garage Noord. And it is actually our opening act! This time, we decided to open at 3 PM with Bar040, where Gemma Maree will guide us through a 3 hours opening set: basically, a hug on a cold Sunday afternoon and one of those warm ups that are not to miss. Gemma Maree has a wide range of sounds and moods, going from calm listening sets to trembling bass, breakbeats, jungle. Expect a journey, and make sure to join us early so you do not miss it! 🖤 Gemma is building a name in our scene having played sets at RRFM, Radio Operator, Massief, and recently also at Raum, where she played a beautiful listening set in the Boutique at Interfering Grounds. Does not seem real! I’m sharing some of my favourite dubbed out music in the precious listening space, of my favourite club @club.raum w/ a stacked line up of talented women. So this is what it feels like. To every producer, community and dancer who makes this ecosystem thrive - thank you! I will be seeing you on Friday, amongst the dimmed down lights and through the echoing of bass, we’ll ride this experience together. PEEL returns to Garage Noord on February 1st, with an exciting lineup and a rich artistic program. Another Sunday gathering, from 3 PM to 1 AM 💛 All energies are welcome, as long as they are kind. This is a space to arrive as you are, and gently uncover what’s beneath. A place where bodies feel safe to be close, where curiosity is welcome, and where consent, presence, and mutual respect shape the room. Multipla presents MASSIEF With a focus on Bass and Breakbeat culture MASSIEF makes its debut at MULTIPLA on the 22nd of November. After a string of underground events around Amsterdam over the past two years, the collective is stepping up to take over the club in their unique style, representing a growing Bass and Breakbeat renaissance in modern dance music.
