SURPRISE ANNOUNCEMENT! Something pretty insane happened this weekend thanks to @axeworldfest as we were delegates at their beautiful conference ✨ first of all there is nothing as powerful as a room filled with women and nonbinary folks who shape this industry, second of all their speakeasy’s after parties are fire, and third but not least we fell in love with @badgalannie and just invited her over to open up the first BEDA of the season so our early guests also get a beautiful DJ experience 🌺 @cartelista confirmed this was the fastest showcase to booking experience they had and we can’t hide we’re not a little proud of it oopsss. Hailing from Abidjan and based in Ottawa, Xannie born Anne-Sybil Yacé is a DJ, musician, and producer known for her genre-blending sound, fusing Afrobeat, hip-hop, electronic, and global diasporic influences. Coming from a family of musicians, she developed an early passion for rhythm and cultural expression that continues to shape her artistry. Her performances stand out through a hybrid approach that combines DJ sets with live elements like saxophone and piano, often alongside other musicians, creating immersive and high-energy experiences. Xannie has performed at festivals across Canada, including Festival Phoque Off, Festival Parasol, and Festival Franco-Ontarien, and is on a mission to bridge cultures, champion underrepresented voices, and move crowds—both physically and emotionally. 🗓️May 3 | doors 7:30 📍 @division.88 🎟️ tickets at the door!! She has built a versatile portfolio in her professional career, with 7 years experience, bringing visions to life and creating living art. Strawberry is known for her signature aesthetic, using GLOW in the Dark UV elements that give her work a fascinating otherworldly dimension.
