Meet: Waldymoto
 Close friend and collaborator Waldy finally joins our catalog with a long-awaited, deeply personal release.
In our interview series, he shares some insights about the EP, his technical approach, and how the tracks work on the dance floor.

On May 2, I’ll be playing at Open Ground for the first time. Heard a lot about it, looking forward to finally experiencing it. Wednesday, 13.05., instinkt lab w/ AMORAL, Anna & Ramón, Kribs Trust the impulse. Instinkt Lab opens the space for driving, warm techno. The Amsterdam-based DJ AMORAL stands for melodic, uptempo rhythms moving through a rumbling subfloor. Minimalist soundscapes that hit just right, where her unique sense of pacing truly shines. Cologne’s techno tag team Anna & Ramón, along with the Lab’s very own Kribs, take over for the rest of the night. Adding fresh impulses to the individual journeys unfolding across the floor.

With our return to Open Ground we are delighted to host the German debut of @obstructorr . Hailing from Georgian capital of Tbilisi, he has been a prominent figure in both local scene, frequently performing in such clubs as Bassiani and Khidi, and gaining massive international support with releases on HAYES, NRBK and Illegal Alien Records. Our connection straightened by his contribution to our last year’s BLENDE02, we are happy to finally see Obstructor in Germany. Our frequent collaborator and a friend, Cologne’s very own @pileta__p is coming to Open Ground as a part of our curation. An outstanding DJ, frequently appearing in clubs all across Germany, seamlessly traversing between genres and moods, well known for her strong techno selection, she makes a perfect fit for our line up. We are happy to have her back after last year’s Blende Hub ambient session. A part of instinkt lab team and a co-curator of Blende Hub, @sm_04061 is a Berlin-based producer and DJ. Previously releasing deep techno works on Space Textures, Nferee and Intersum, he is an experienced selector, focused on deep, cold and psychedelic sound, blending atmospheres with raw and distorted synth lines. PRESENTING BLENDE HUB: "WE REFUSE TO CONSTRAIN OURSELVES BY WHAT THE SCENE EXPECTS YOU TO DO" Within the techno scene, it’s easy to get stuck in what works and what sells. To avoid stagnation and preserve artistic freedom, Instinkt Lab spun off an experimental platform called Blende Hub, allowing space to curate floors beyond predictable genre boundaries. We met with founders Jannis Hohe and Sergei Makarov, whose collaboration began in an unlikely way. Despite living in Cologne and Moscow respectively, they first connected through the Welsh label NFEREE. When war broke out, Jannis supported Sergei’s move to Germany. Berlin eventually became home to both, where they reunited to develop BLENDE. We first connected with Ph0neme last summer in the woods of Montenegro during @otkriche.festival . We quickly bonded over shared tastes and our mutual love for the the electronic music scene globally. As an excellent selector, he champions a sound we deeply value and resonate with, making him a natural choice for our podcast series. This recording captures his opening set from @future_imperfect_syd in Sydney (Nov 8th), alongside K.O.P 32, Alison Belle, and Eastern Distributor.
