PRESENTING BLENDE HUB: "WE REFUSE TO CONSTRAIN OURSELVES BY WHAT THE SCENE EXPECTS YOU TO DO" Within the techno scene, it’s easy to get stuck in what works and what sells. To avoid stagnation and preserve artistic freedom, Instinkt Lab spun oﬀ an experimental platform called Blende Hub, allowing space to curate floors beyond predictable genre boundaries. We met with founders Jannis Hohe and Sergei Makarov, whose collaboration began in an unlikely way. Despite living in Cologne and Moscow respectively, they first connected through the Welsh label NFEREE. When war broke out, Jannis supported Sergei’s move to Germany. Berlin eventually became home to both, where they reunited to develop BLENDE.
