Final day of shooting Fincher and Tarantinos new film today @rshstudioshollywood . It’s been such an honor to have such an incredible team living and breathing at our studio for the better part of the last year. Been a masterclass in absolutely everything. @emesserschmidt had some fun with this one. Gonna be a good one.
Raptor XE starts shipping today and I love the price of this beast ... At $15k it is the highest image quality per dollar RED’s ever released, and the lower frame rates comes with some happy side effects like cutting 5w off of the power draw and chopping 10 seconds off the boot time. The new eND PL mount with touch LCD and 3rd party support is crazy smooth. And I love love love that the bundle price is better than I could have ever afforded to offer you all. I probably shouldn’t say this out loud but Nikon is clearly pricing for the customer and not for the shareholders… just like the good old days :) Proud papa here watching the two teams keep kicking ass together and making all the right moves. It has been great watching the two teams work together to push each others respective products forward, I’m sure there will be a ton of previews and reviews landing about now but it’s important to note the Nikon ZR is not a replacement for any RED camera, but the ZR is indeed a monumental step for the future of RED cameras as it is the first execution of REDCODE working on Nikon’s Incredibly powerful Processors… something that both RED and Nikon will be able to take advantage of in the future for both of their product lines.
