I'm excited to invite you to an intimate release party on June 17th in @theatertinnenpot Ghent. I'll be playing old and new work AND the remaining copies of the DRAN EP will be sold here. We have limited capacity so do not sleep on this one. I hope to see many of you in this beautiful city where my musical adventure began, 10 years ago.

In her own words:
'In 2021, I was invited by Narva Art Residency and curator Laura Toots to create an in-situ work. The residency is located in Narva, on the Estonian-Russian border, at the historic Kreenholm site, once a major textile producer. After its closure in 2010, the site was abandoned, while nature slowly reclaimed the island. The river, once a source of energy, is now mostly dry due to a dam, except for a few moments each year when the water flows again.
During my stay, I took walks through the area at sunset. In July 2021, just before the war in Ukraine, tensions in Narva were already noticeable. Where residents once visited St. Petersburg with ease, this had now become difficult. From Kreenholm, the guarded border bridge to Russia is visible, and at certain points, you stand face to face with Russian neighbors, only meters away.
For the exhibition, I created the flag series From Edges and Shadows, They Travel to Light. The video material from my walks has so far remained untouched in my archive'

Time to reveal who I had the pleasure of welcoming as guests on this EP, which celebrates the 10th anniversary of my Innerwoud project.
I met Gowaart Van Den Bossche, also known as yadayn, around 15 years ago in Ghent. We played together in a band that balanced between post-rock and neoclassical music. Later, we pursued our own musical paths with solo projects, but we kept supporting each other. Once, we even played a sleep concert together that lasted 8 hours. Gowaart is and remains one of my dearest friends. He lent his guitar skills to add a layer to DAR II, the second track on the EP.
Belgian artist and musician Lydia Hannah Debeer has been a friend since art school. The first time I laid some layers of double bass on top of each other was at her request, as a soundtrack for a video she made in a crematorium, which was kind of appropriate. The seed for Innerwoud had been planted. You can recognise Lydia’s voice on DAR II, but also on ‘Mirre’, title track of my debut album. Lydia also made a new video for DRAN.
Colin H. Van Eeckhout, who you probably know as singer of Amenra, sent me a message 10 years ago, asking if I wanted to play support for some acoustic shows. An invitation that would open many doors for my project. We also shared the stage regularly as solo artists. He was kind enough to lend a poem that adds depth to the first song, DRAN.
When I toured with Steve Von Till two years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Dave French (Yob). Besides the great conversations we had, I was impressed by man’s enormous versatility: percussionist, engineer and various instruments. Quite an honour that Dave wanted to play a drum part for DAR II.

Today marks the official announce of my upcoming EP.
Celebrating 10 years of Innerwoud.
Titled 'Dran', an old Dutch word for the male bee (which also gave rise to the term "drone"), bridging two full-length albums.
The EP consists of two tracks featuring multiple guests. People that were of great importance during the past 10 years. Due to both friendship and inspiration.
The artwork I share with you today is made, once more, by my long time friend @brambentein
There is no one I trust more with the visual part of the process.
