Sustain-Release 2025 Countless fixtures, forest conditions, summer camp electrical, ambitious timelines. Made Herzog’s Fitzcarraldo and Friedkin’s Sorcerer look like reasonable career choices with higher probabilities of success. Small crew, everyone doing everything, no rigid roles, just collective momentum forward.
The thing is – it worked. Not through individual heroics but because when someone hit a wall, someone else picked up their slack. When the plan changed, we changed with it. Everyone here handled logistics that weren’t theirs, covered shifts that weren’t scheduled, solved problems outside their expertise. The kind of collective effort where you stop tracking who did what because everyone did everything.
What we built together was worldmaking in the truest sense – transforming raw forest into spaces where light and sound became inseparable, where we bent nature and technology into something sublime. Yet again, The Grove and Bossa stood completely transformed for those four days. That kind of collective aesthetic practice where a small group creates an entirely new collective sensory world from scratch – that’s what I’m grateful for.
