it has now been a month since we left the previous @indimints.arthouse to move to a bigger, better, brighter location. soon that old house (quite a relic of the past, a very old construction) will be destroyed to bits so that some fancy builder can make a bigger, better, brighter, house. but it’s difficult to overstate the impact this house has had on our collective lives; how much joy and music and ambitions we quickly realised in the two years we spent here together.
both of our albums were written and recorded entirely within this space. all of our rehearsals for any of our gigs also took place here (green park’s music has never graced the underground boxes that make up delhi jampads). somehow the neighbours never once complained. we fostered cats here, fell in love, recorded a host of other very talented artists, and celebrated birthdays and other special days together.
now the house lies empty and dusty, anxiously awaiting the day of its meeting with the firing squad, while we happily go on with our lives in our new space (don’t get us wrong- we love that a lot too!). so may this instagram post forever immortalize this beautiful old house, and if you ever happen to stumble upon a ruin or worse, a fancy new shitty delhi house where it once stood, you would have these pictures to remember what it looked like when life once flowed through it.
Indimints is a recording studio that specializes in recording and mixing dialog, and vocal/musical performances. for those of you who have heard the song “Sabaa” on Newly Aged - it’s named after Sabaa Didi, who takes care of each of our homes including the @indimints.arthouse . she has been a constant support to us over the last 5 years, loves making cat reels, and makes the best mutton shami kebabs.
her brother recently had an accident and is in hospital, and their family needs money to get by for the next couple of months. we have decided to do a fundraiser for them to help out in whatever way we can - so green park will play alongside shauharty (@nawaaabjaaan ) and @darookhs at a friend’s terrace garden. there will also be merch and art that can be bought. all proceeds will go to Sabaa Didi’s family.

“it must have been so easy, in those days when everything was new”.
when we wrote this song at the beginning of 2023, we didn’t realise just how many things would continue to give us feelings of newness and excitement- there’s a touch of naïveté buried within the intense emotions of our title track “Newly Aged”. the past week has been incredibly overwhelming and we are stunned by the reception that our album and show have received.
