They say you learn more from the bad days than the good ones so hopefully this is the most I'll ever learn at once 🫡🥵😭
But fr. Showing up prepared and excited and giving yourself a shot is NOT optional, and I did that. Unfortunately that's about as far as I got. Even when it got hard, then harder, then so hard every step I felt like I was going to vom or faint (or potentially both) I was going to see it through. Even if every step forward felt like it took every drop of energy I had (with an unrewarding reminder on the clock) I was going to see it through. Im proud of that. And I know I'll be all the better for it someday.
It was easy to find the resolve to see it all the way to finish knowing my teammates absolutely SENT IT and conquered World Champs Marathon 🤩 @susannasullivan4 4th and @jesstonn 8th 🥳🥹 They raced so bravely, so confidently and it paid off! I could not be more inspired by them and I'm so lucky to call them teammates not just on this trip but year-round ❤️
And Tokyo, I'd heard the crowds may be quiet but they SHOWED UP! Every "GANBARE" 📣made the next step seem possible 🙏. Thank you for a great event.
To everyone who cheered from home / on course / from wherever, ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ y'all are so real 😭😭😭 rain or shine I feel so supported and so loved and I couldn't be more grateful for that.

HOUSTON WE HAVE LIFT OFF 🚀😤
Went for it today and came away with a runner-up finish, top-American, 11 min PB, soooo much confidence and not broken 😅🥳
If we got it right we knew it could be a big day and we prepared as best we could to have that moment. Special thanks to @wimboston@malikmahmud1 for keeping the bod in good condition, @jonasrun1 for doing the heavy lifting mentally and physically during the race (not everyone would be willing to do this the day before their bday), my @rhodeislandtrackclub fam for making living and training in PVD so enjoyable, coach @kurt_benninger for always being right 😂 and of course @brooksrunning 💙
@chevronhoustonmarathon you did it again, another great year in the books!

WE DID IT BOSTON 🥹😭🤩💖
WOW they weren't lying when they said that course is TOUGH. But they also weren't lying when they said there's something magical about this race. Hard as it may have been I have no regrets on my first marathon! Coming away with soooooo many lessons learned, maybe even all of them, a hunger for more and most importantly body and spirit in tact.

Thank you Boston, Ily
and we'll be back for the win someday 🫡

12/10 would absolutely recommend pulling up to the Brooks cheer station with your friends to watch history live in the making

"WE DID IT!" - @cynthiaerivo after running an incredible 14 minute personal best on a warm sunny day at THE London Marathon 🥹😭🤩🙌
It has been nothing short of inspiring being a part of Cynthia's marathon prep in going after such a big goal while also performing 6 days a week. She was (demonstrably) fearless in stepping up to the task each week in pushing her limits even if there were some v relatable nerves staring down those paces. It was SO fun to be on the other side instead of an athlete in this moment. Can confirm it's just as if not more nerve wracking to be watching instead of running 😅
She crushed it. 3:21:40. So much to be proud of in that run and still thinking about running it back ✨
@brooksrunning thanks for brining us together💙 that was epic
HERE for London Marathon weekend with the BEST 💙✨🫡 Can't wait to watch everyone shine on Sunday 🤩
After a tough personal week last week it's been so energizing to reunite with the team and pivot to cheering/coaching duties for the weekend - ever more inspired for my return to running in a few weeks 🤞

@jessyparkerhumphreys : 'For the past two months, @cynthiaerivo has spent close to two hours every night on stage at the Noël Coward Theatre. For that time, she is transformed into Count Dracula and 23 other characters featured in Bram Stoker’s novel for Kip Williams’ production. On Saturdays, she does two shows and on Sunday, she has the day off. Next week, she will be using that Sunday to run the London Marathon.
'Anyone who has seen the show will know that Erivo is not someone who does things by halves. It should come as no surprise then that in order to prepare for the 26.2 miles, she recruited a professional marathon runner, American @imtinyrik , to train her for the race.
'Kemp holds a personal best of 2hours 22min 56sec over the distance and represented the United States at the 2025 World Athletics Championships. Yet despite her career, Kemp describes her coaching experience as extending as far as “my friends asking me for questions because I’m good at running”.
'So how do you prepare an actor in the middle of an extensive and exhausting stage commitment for something as gruelling as the marathon? Kemp and Erivo were paired by Kemp’s sponsors Brooks because they thought the duo would connect – Kemp describes herself as a “huge fan” of Erivo.
'“With the running boom, a ton of people are getting into it but you have no idea what running means to them,” says Kemp. “Talking to her about running was crazy. She trains very seriously. But I guess I shouldn’t be shocked because she does seem very hard working. She is definitely a grinder. Always busy, always full of energy. I saw that reflected a lot in her training.”'

Sometimes when it rains it pours and right now it's really coming down..
A sudden series of unfortunate events is putting it incredibly mildly but I'm in no place mentally, physically or emotionally to toe the line on Monday.
Sitting this one out but also on the edge of my seat for what's sure to be a @bostonmarathon for the history books 💙✨
The marathon is a more of a total sum game and I can't wait to see what these 3yrs since my debut in Boston will add up to 😈
