IMPROBABLE LIFTS is a workshop on improvised partnering that explores non-verbal negotiation in a space of play. We will dive into the principles of experimental partnering, to then practice skills and explore tools for improvised partnering. Working with the aesthetics of failure, our physical style is based on generous struggle and spontaneous desires. We don’t aim to cooperate in a traditional sense, yet there are still moments, in which our bodies become one absurd, joyful mess and success is being redefined. Schedule: Saturday, 30.8., 11-16 Sunday, 31.8., 11-16 Free of Charge Open Level Registration via link in bio - coming soon Adress: Studio 0/1, Gottlieb-Dunkel Str. 30-32 Please bring some food to share for the Community Lunch. Workshop led by @improbablelifts (@paluch_siwa and @a.h.lang The project is co-funded by the European Union The workshop is part of the Solidarity Corps project “Rhythms of Movement: Dancing and Movement for Community Well-Being”

‘Improbable lifts’ is a workshop that employs modes of non-verbal communication within a space of play. Our aim is to generate situations in which participants can surprise themselves. They find themselves in complex physical situations and develop ways and strategies to navigate them. photo: V. Braun, during a research residency @studio2_iti_berlin in 2022

Improbable lifts is a partnering practice that involves two or more bodies becoming one absurd unity. We explore how physical tension builds the relationship and space between us. How do we navigate the balance between ourselves and others? photo: V. Braun, during a research residency @studio2_iti_berlin in 2022

In ‚improbable lifts‘, the partners are not cooperative in a traditional sense and their intentions don’t necessarily overlap, yet there is still an outcome: Small moments in which success is redefined. #improbablelifts photo: V. Braun, during a research residency @studio2_iti_berlin in 2022
