This concept of who are you and what is your medium as an artist or even what is your profession and therefore your tag for life, I find so obsolete and limiting. I don't know, I guess it works for some people, but its also fine to release the pressure of choosing to be only one thing. Especially when the small talk question comes: 'What do you do?' We all must carry crosses in this life. But hopefully, somewhere along the way, we will come to understand that the pain, disappointments, sorrows and sufferings of life are also a gift which will become sweet and light. This Easter symbolically happened to feel like a a dark painful entity has been lifted from my heart and spirit. After a very intense journey (the dark night of the soul as some people call it) I finally feel resurrected. Yesterday I felt like I shifted my reality and I am so relieved and excited for what it is about to come. None of that would have happened however, if I wouldn't allow myself to embody the dark painful realms of existence. I am not religious, but I am grateful for the divine. Don't be afraid to face your pain- it is the only way to find the true light. Some photographs I took in Sicily two months ago during my favourite time of the day, wandering around aimlessly- but in full sensory awareness of what surrounds me right before the earth dips into darkness. This is an unusual post as I am mostly focused on the human body__ but the search for subtle beauty, light, color, dreaminess and sharp composition is always there. This time was freeing to not have to direct something conceptual..🫠 I also went back in time where I started first photographing buildings during my study years in Athens. Time comes in circles sometimes.
