Happy Earth Day! 🌎
There’s no better way to honor our planet than helping it heal. TreeFolks' Rooted in Recovery program is doing just that. Volunteers are working with neighbors in Travis, Williamson, and Burnet counties who suffered devastating losses in the July 2025 floods by providing:
* Professional site assessments and restoration planning.
* Planting 400–500 native saplings per acre.
* Expert guidance and post-planting support.
This work is about more than replacing what was lost ... reforestation reduces erosion, slows floodwaters, improves water quality, and rebuilds habitat for wildlife.
“Recovery is not only about what gets cleared away. It is also about what we choose to grow back,” said Andrew Smiley, Executive Director of TreeFolks. “With Rooted in Recovery, we are helping communities restore trees, strengthen waterways, and invest in a healthier future for the places they call home.”
