Children’s Day this year was special. I spent it doing what I love; training some incredible kids in theatre and storytelling at the Institut Français du Nigéria. Free sessions, pure joy.
With the support of @sabiartslimited and @ifnigeria we created space for imagination, voice, and play. And honestly? Working with children reminds you of the best, most honest version of yourself; the one that still believes in magic.
The talent? Wild. Pure. Unfiltered.

Year 26. What will be, will be. When you choose life, tell me. Do you choose living too?
Life is for the living- The alive, and to be lived.
You are up at night. A perfect blend of all the years you’ve lived. All the hugs you’ve received and given. All the laughters you’ve shared. That thin crevice between the remnants of youth, and the waves of adulthood.
The weight of all the decisions that have brought you thus far, rest with you. Your body and mind are a catalogue of scars. Knots of doubt have formed in your chest. Joy makes occasional appearances like an old guest. The thing they say about time is untrue. It heals nothing. But you learned this at 25.
Nostalgia is a destructive exercise, so you do not reminisce. The rejections come in waves. You are rendered inutile by shame.
You cannot account for the past decade. Time balls up into a knot.
When they ask you “Are you happy?” You will stutter. It is a simple question, but it takes you forever to produce an answer.
You cannot tell the truth, so you tell a story. You use your emotions as a crutch, and stand solidly on your lies. The truth is not as appealing. What will be, will be.
Year 24. You are generous with your love.
Bursting at the seams with hope. The 30th mile marker is a while ahead. Time. A wedding here, a funeral there. A birth here, a new job there. A break up here, a loss there. Time. These are the cards life has dealt you. You reach for time. You want to grasp it by the ankle so that it slows down. But time is not a living thing…
