The IBEW Broadcast Department, along with leaders from IBEW Local 45 (Los Angeles), IBEW Local 1200 (Washington DC), IBEW Local 1212 (New York), IBEW Local 1220 (Chicago) gathered in Hollywood, California this week to meet with Executives and Management from CBS Broadcast for their Halfly Meeting.
This annual labor-management meeting with CBS is a testament to the partnership between the IBEW and CBS to ensure the relationship remains strong, IBEW members concerns and issues are addressed, and the highest quality product is shown on the general public’s television.
Between these 4 Local Union’s the IBEW represents 3,600 IBEW Sister’s and Brother’s working at CBS broadcast station’s and sporting events across the nation.

Last week, hundreds of dedicated IBEW members gathered in Sacramento for the 2026 CSAEW Lobby Day, standing strong to advocate for more jobs, better livelihoods, and enhanced job site safety.
Together, we championed critical legislation that will:
~ Strengthen Workforce Protections: Pushing laws that ensure skilled workers are prioritized in public works.
~ Enhance Safety for Utility Workers: Advocating for tougher penalties against assaults on those serving in the field.
~ Expand EV Infrastructure: Calling for increased electric vehicle chargers, installed by certified electricians, to support our green future.
We also opposed harmful bills that threaten our apprenticeship model and undermine fair wages.
A heartfelt thank you to all IBEW members for your unwavering commitment! Let’s keep fighting for a safer and more equitable future for our communities. 💡⚡️
Support for Key Bills:
SB 1241: Enforces skilled workforce requirements.
SB 1330: Protects utility workers with enhanced penalties.
SB 1215: Increases EV charger installations at multifamily housing.
Opposition to Harmful Legislation:
SB 1065: Threatens the apprenticeship model by allowing unsafe practices.
AB 1751: Proposes below-standard wages for housing projects.
