Please join us in wishing a very Happy Birthday to IBEW 569's Business Agent, William Stedham. Thank you for all you do to keep our union strong, Brother!
IBEW 569's 2026 Primary Endorsement Guide is available!
Find the link in our bio and use the QR code to share with friends and family. Remember to vote by June 2!
Ever wonder about our endorsement process?
IBEW 569's non-partisan endorsement process is demanding. We support candidates, not based on their party affiliation, but on whether they will champion IBEW priorities -- from policies that put our members to work, to the protection of our pensions, benefits, and our right to bargain.
Local candidates seeking our endorsement must first take Labor 101, a course designed by the San Diego and Imperial Counties Labor Council (SDICLC) that explains the importance of unions to ensuring pathways to the middle-class continue to exist in the U.S. They subsequently undergo a battery of COPE interviews with affiliates of the SDICLC and the San Diego Building Trades Council, which IBEW 569 participates in, before being invited to seek an endorsement with IBEW 569. The committee responsible for recommending endorsements to the IBEW 569 General Membership is IBEW 569's Legislative Committee.
The IBEW 569 Legislative Committee is open to any IBEW 569 member. Members attend monthly meetings to discuss and deliberate on elections and legislative priorities. Members interview candidates and determine allocations from IBEW 569's Political Action Committee, which is voluntarily funded by our members.
Candidates seeking IBEW 569's endorsement must first complete a rigorous questionnaire. Upon completion, they are invited to interview with IBEW 569's Legislative Committee. The Committee then deliberates, votes, and recommends endorsements to the full IBEW 569 Membership. It is at the monthly IBEW 569 General Membership meetings that the full body votes to accept -- or not -- the Legislative Committee's recommended endorsements.
Please join us in our enthusiastic union WELCOME to our 23 newest members! 21 in San Diego, 2 in Imperial.
We look forward to working beside you to make our union even stronger!

On Friday, May 1st, we celebrated our retirees at our Quarterly Retiree Luncheon. There was a Cinco de Mayo theme and an awesome Mexican food buffet. We also had our famous Annual Retiree Bingo. There was fellowshipping, reminiscing, and Brotherhood. A good time was had by all in attendance.
If you are interested in attending future events please contact William Stedham at [email protected].

The County of Imperial today passed the Lithium Valley Construction Workforce Ordinance -- the WORRKS Ordinance.
This ordinance will ensure the lithium boom to come benefits the local community, maximizing local economic benefits by ensuring the high-road jobs created stay local, all while fostering a legacy of local skilled workers through apprenticeship pathways.
We were proudly there in support today, but IBEW 569 was also there when the WORRKS initiative began. We shepherded it through to its final vote today with our brothers and sisters in the @imperialcountybuildingtrades & @statebuildingtrades_ca . Big thanks to @imperialcounty for the excellent research and analysis!
IBEW 569 has been fighting for high-road jobs, apprenticeship opportunities, and worksite safety alongside and in partnership with Imperial County working families for over four decades. And we're not done.
Today we celebrate. Tomorrow, it's back to work for our members and for the working families of Imperial and San Diego Counties.
